Certainly a day of two halves Hypno. Glad that your students are ok. Such a shame about Amy Winehouse too many talented people live life on the edge.

Great news on the refund, I bet you were pleased and relieved given that you were pondering how to recover the spending spree. Go you on random men giving you their phone number. Will you use it I wonder (mind you, you already have a nice friend)

Whilst very flattering to have such unexpected attention, I have absolutely no intention of doing anything with it, other than feeling good about the fact that I am no longer the frump I was of years gone by :).

Still excited about the refund though :D

The *real* excitement of life continues, and I am up in order to cover DS's paper round, as he is with his father, and to head to the tip with a load of cardboard from all the IKEA furniture to get it out of the garage.

Well, what else are Sunday mornings for? (where is that roll eyes smiley when you need it!!)

Although the tax refund is enough to go to Rome or somewhere, it really will be used for more mundane things such as getting DD's bus pass for college and for building up the emergency savings a bit. It will also provide a buffer for spending money on hols next month so I know we can have a really good time without counting the pennies too much.

That said, the longer I can make it all last, the better - I won't be getting another payout and it isn't a HUGE amount of money, although it is a very useful amount that is for sure.

I need to focus still on my savings from coffees and lunches, so my Rome and Morocco pots will continue being funded from there for now.
