This Wide Awake Member is dressed and 1st washload has been pegged out, 2nd one almost ready! Might do some ironing while watching a Harry Potter film with kids! Crikey, what a contrast!

    Lala, what a contrast indeed!

Another memeber of the wide awake club here. I was at the gym by 8.30 this morning :T. Now I just need to kick the kids off the playstation, so I can find something decent to watch while I tackle 3 weeks worth of ironing

  • Good morning :) Yesterday was rather traumatic, as I started bleeding on Thursday night, and spent over 3 hours waiting for a scan yesterday to tell me what was going on. Turns out the baby is fine, and I saw the heartbeat, but there is a bleed near the sac so if that gets bigger it could still go bad, but at the moment it's OK. That was the most tortuous night and 3 hours of my life.

    Still AF, so 15/30.

  • stumbled across this while reading other diaries.......

Now I like a drink and I would say the longest I've done without a drink was 7 days.

I've become a habitual drinker indoors since I went on a booze cruise in 1997, up till then used to just go out and drink.

2 weeks ago this Sunday, I woke up with a dreadful hangover after drinking nearly 2 bottles of red and 4 pints.

I felt ill and remained ill for a few days.

Thursday just gone, after 11 days without alcohol, I had a glass of red in the evening and yesterday morning I woke up with a fuzzy head!

As it was friday night, I felt like a tipple, so had a real small measure (less than a shot) of vodka mixed with soda and lime.

This is the 2nd Saturday morning on the trot where I haven't woken up feeling crap. I like it.

I'll still go out and have a beer with mates and let my hair down once in a while, but I do feel better for knocking bottles of vino on the head, and I've lost half a stone in two weeks!

WOW......Part 10 and three years....where did that time go.

My life would be so different now if I hadnt found you all.
I now lead quite a peaceful life....(although busy)....and have a beautiful little grandson who I am allowed to babysit anytime as his mummy knows Nanny will always be sober.:D

I am nearly three years sober now and I still read/lurk nearly every day.

Its great to see new faces and old ones popping in every now and then.
Good luck to all of you on your journeys whichever path you are taking....giving up/cutting down.

    Remember.......

    Take care of YOU
    Love Mollypollyxxxx

Damn - I wish I was still in front with you chasing me MP :D

However - I have good news ...... I have been 3 weeks without a can in my hand (or a glass;))

I have to say it took a stomach ulcer to make me stop. :o
It got to the point when i knew something wasn't quite right, but it still didn't stop me ...until I went to the GP. He said 21 units max a week or an endoscopy
So I opted for zero units, as I know I can't just do a few :o
I'm going to do it this time - I just know it :D

Glad to see the thread still going - where are all the 'oldies' ?:)
Nice to see some new posters too though :D

    Best wishes
