Morning all, had a bit of a hectic weekend, so not much time to post. 6 afd please Shaggy. I used to play in a Samba band, and went back to practice yesterday for the first time after becoming af, what a revelation. For a start it was great to play without a hangover, and really became conscious of the diservice I had been doing to my playing. I dont think I realised previously what big drinkers some of the rest of the band were. We hung around outside the practice venue in the sunshine, where lots of alcohol was consumed. A part of me feels that I am courting temptation by being around people who drink, but if I avoided every where/one who drank I would lead a very secluded lifestyle.
Off on a residential course for a few days now, so seclusion really does await.

BHB you must be so proud of yourself. Well done.

Hello all,

I'm a returner slinking back into the forum...yet again

I've been drinking so much recently and something has got to change. So while I work out what that something is, please can I join the 3 night challenge Mackeroo.

I've been trying to work out for months what I can do about my drinking, but all that seems to do is give me an excuse to drink. I can't see a way to stop so I may as well just carry on. At least this will give me 3 days break to just stop thinking about it and stop drinking.

I'll have a good catch up of how everyone's doing later. In the meantime, I just feel relief at having a break.

Wasnt AF today, we went to St Andrews for the day, which was lovely, lots of charity shops to mooch about in, the weather was nice so we sat and had a glass of wine at the 18th hole at the old course.
