Morning all. DH was on the beers when I got home yesterday, but I managed to resist, so 1 for June please Shaggy, and 2 for the challenge please Mackeroo.

Mackeroo my weight is also affected by my AFness. I have weigh-in tonight and I know it won't be good after the amount I consumed over the bank holiday weekend.

Bearacus I'm so glad you've decided to go on that holiday hun. My dad was diagnosed with cancer 15 years ago just before I was due to get married. He had to have major surgery and I wanted to cancel the wedding and the honeymoon. He was appalled at this thought and so we went ahead with it. My mum looked after my daughter and my dad while we were away. It gave them both something to focus on.

1 AFD for June please Shaggy and 2 for the snc please mackeroo-well done on the weightloss and I can definitely echo about alcohol and weightloss. When I was a regular school night drinker my stomach was so much bigger than it is now. However i'm due to go on hols where i will most probably drink most days-:-O-but not to excess I have vowed. I don't want any hangovers to ruin my hols. Darwinsmum I am hoping the postman brings me a letter like yours-you must be so chuffed! Miss P-my ds is still at my mum and dads as he has gone to the zoo today so although I'm working all day at home I'm trying to get the kids stuff packed whilst they're not here! Enjoy the lovely day everyonex

    1 AFD please, Shaggy, thanks!

Regarding the weight question - it is SO linked to alcohol consumption and then extra carbs the next day ... like Maman, I tend to put on a couple of pounds when I've had a few drinks, then it takes me days to get rid of them and then what do I do? Well, decide to have a few drinks again .......

Mackeroo - your weight loss is amazing - well done!

    Have a good day everybody!

I know this isn't the weightloss thread (I'll be popping in there in a minute:)) but I know that the cutting down has helped me enormously. I know that I should be wanting to cut down by how good it is for my liver and general health, by saving money etc but it's the lack of calories/sugar that motivates me most. I must be a proper lightweight:rotfl:

I do exactly the same as you Pricey which is why it's taken me 8 months to lose almost 3 stone. It might have been quicker if I'd given up or cut down even more but then I might have given up my diet because all the deprivation made me miserable. Each to his own!

Hope this motivates someone who has aspirations to become a lightweight!!;)

P.S. I'm with you beckseven on the holiday plans. I'm off in a couple of weeks and while I'm not going to be pigging it completely and definitely no hangovers, I'm going to enjoy myself and redress the balance when I get back.

    Wow! That is brilliant :j

It's half term here, and I'm having a few days off work too, but bells are under control, so I know I've made terrific progress over the 2 years since I've been a member of this lovely thread. I'm cleaning today - actually quite like it once I get into it, and it's great for burning the calories. Then tennis with DD2 and yoga this evening with DD2 and DD3 - I could really get used to this non-working life :rotfl:

Thank you May, I am feeling so much better today, no hangover, sunshine and a clean house. Just shows what a difference even one day of being AF makes!

those are really impressive weight losses Mackeroo and Maman. there seems to be a few of us who could de with loosing a few pounds and I have to say that I have tried to 'forget' the calories in alcohol, so I still have the wobbly tummy and heavy thighs! At least I have 4 more weeks till I have to go on the beach so if I keep the drinking under control and wathch what I eat I might be a bit lighter!

I was AF yesterday so that's one down for June please shaggy.

It's a bank holiday here so I've been out in the garden weeding. I'm going to be vigilant this evening and luckily there's no whit wine or cider in the house so I should be OK. If I have anything it would be a shandy with a lot of diet lemonade, but the weather's not too hot so will probably give it a miss.

    Right, back to the trowel...
    Trying to keep in budget.
