I have a few jars for copper, but nothing else. Pound coins go in the bank, why give up interest? £100 in for a year is £3, better than looking shiny.

Getting rid of low denomination coins - take them down to the supermarket. Best thing about self service machines - you can just shove in ten pounds worth of five pence coins.

I'm not very good at this. Physical jars, that is.

I have a £2 jar that's supposed to be for the fancy handbag I covet, but it gets raided whenever the kids need something and I have no money in my purse.

I'm better at doing it online. I have several deposit accounts with standing orders paying into them on the first of the month.

Oh, and there's a jug in the kitchen, into which I drop change I find lying around or that's weighing down my purse. That's usually £100 or so when emptied.

I'm typing on the netbook I bought myself with my cashback balance :)
