hello, just wanted to share my jars situation!
im sure there are plenty of us with them at last count i have 9 i think....
i have converted my to be wife into writing down an exact budget so every month she can separate all her money and save for presents and holidays etc. is quite amusing to see her excitidly moving her money from one jar to the next! lol (she did think she had no money at all).
we went to pizza express last night and dined on tesco vouchers and a small amount from " monthly eat out jar" its working out rather well!!

I do this but use envelopes, I think it's a good way of working.

I do this with 5 envelopes, we have food, petrol, holidays and entertainment, clothing and misc, and then at the end of the week whatever notes we have left over get moved into the spare money envelope, and coins go into a big pot to be paid into the bank when there is enough to fill money bags. I must admist I get quite excited about moving money across to the spare money envelope!0

Oh I need to invest in more jars!!!
Currently I have one for coppers and one for spare pound coins and 50ps at the end of the week, any notes get transferred over to the savers account in the bank but think I much prefer putting it all away in jars.

I've had a moment of jar inspiration thanks to this thread. I want to buy a Kelly Kettle (circa £50) but I can't really afford it, However, I do have a bad habit of eating chocolate and sweeties several times a week. If I set up a jamjar and call it The Kelly Kettle Fund, and resist buying chocolate, I can put away what I would have spent and in 2-3 months I will have the price of the kettle and (hopefully) be a little less cuddly.:rotfl:

Noooooooo....
Invest in Jam or peanut butter and get free jars! Or if you need them far quicker than that pasta sauces and oven bakes only need one meal to empty them. Buying an empty jar is always more expensive than buying one full of food too. I never understood that!I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.
