Hello!
dlb - It sounds like you handled that situation fantastically. My OH is training to be a mental health nurse, so I have all of that to look forward to! Glad your friend has the support of her family and ran off to your house as opposed to somewhere much more dangerous.
Almost managed to get up at 6 this morning when OH went off to work, but I stayed in bed just a little too long and went back to sleep until half 10. Got quite a busy day planned:
- Tidy and clean flat
- Xmas lists
- Take library books back
- Buy beeswax/foamy shave/xmas cards/x men trilogy/lotr 2 and 3
- Ironing
- Christmas Chutney/Pickled Shallots
- Email Pavillions
So I'd better stop yakking and get on with it! Have a great day

Hi Everyone
We missed out on the winds here in East Anglia (my part anyway) but the rain:eek:.
I had a horrible day yesterday. Opened my post in the morning to find a letter from my bank telling me I had gone over my overdaft and they would charge me £25. I have never even used my overdraft. When I went online I found I had been the victim of fraud and they had cleaned out all the money from my account. Talk about shock, I couldn't believe it and was reduced to a snivelling wreck. My bank however were great and have assured me I will get the money back as it is clearly fraud. All the cash withdrawals were made in Canada over the last 2 days and obviously I hadn't been there. My OH went to buy me a restorative bottle of wine last night and people in the shop were saying the police were arresting people at a nearby establishment for card cloning so the mystery of how it happened has been solved. Not a good day though.
On the OH front today I just need to do the weeks meal plans and then going to chill out.
Have a good day

Afternoon all :j
Have had a busy day so far, so I'm *treating* myself to 10 minutes on MSE
I've cleared all the leaves from the gutter at the front of the house - we haven't done that in the 9 years we've lived here
Curtains and voile fron the front window is currently in the WM and I've scrubbed and cleaned all the woodwork/windows.
DD is at a birthday party this afternoon making memory jars
Will look forward to what she brings home.
(((((hugs))))) to allSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Oh, ((hugs)) susiesaver! Thats terrible, just before Xmas as well. Hope it gets sorted asap.
Remind me never to go into town on a Satrday morning just before Xmas ever again. Absolutely manic - I was having to fight my way through Woolworths! And I went annd bought the X Men trilogy, only to find that Woolies are doing it cheaper online - why?? So now I have to go back and get it refunded. We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

It is these that we are having

They put 2 packs in my shopping without me requesting them at a total of £24 . I was almost in tears when I thought they weren't going to refund us for them as we had had signed the order off, but as they weren't on the substitutions list nor were they requested they gave us the money back thank goodness! They aren't very big either, each one only has about 100g of meat in them!
Susiesaver, how horrible for you. I'm glad the bank was helpful towards you.
Edit: link doesn't work it's the Bigham's Beef Wellington's at 11.99 per pack.0 -
