Hello everybody,
Busy day here & a scorcher as well. Just watching the Tri Nations on telly. Were playing the Kiwi's & it's the final. It's 12 all. Nail biting stuff. I'm getting all wound up
and I cant' watch it. I"m settling down on here. OUr computer is in the corner of the lounge so can see the telly quite easily.
Went to Mass tonight & found myself another tiler.
He's coming around tomorrow to look at our bathroom. Hopefully his price will be a lot more realistic. Apparently he's fab and it will be one less job for us to do. Had leftovers for tea but we were still peckish so I made some pancakes with lemon juice & sugar. It was my Nana's recipe & it brought back many happy memories. They weren't as nice as Mum's though.
Powie I'm so jealous.
I wish my Xmas shopping was finsihed.
Well back to the footy. We are into extra time now. Soooo nervewracking. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Was supposed to be going shopping with DH to finish the christmas shopping but he's a grumpy old git this morning so I'll probably go on my own:rolleyes:
Got a mega pile of ironing to tackle later and lots of washing. Feeling a bit fed up about it all especially as my best friend is moving away today:(
Have a bit of good news, DS1 has got an interview for a job as a trainee web designes/developer on Monday:j
Have a lovely day folks. Back later
Take care xx
Was the sleepover for charity or do they work you that hard?:D
Sympathies if you have to cope with a grumpy git. Can't he do the ironing whilst you are out?
Hope your friend isn't moving too far - I remember mine moving several miles.
Congratulations on your DS getting an interview - fingers x'd!An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

Not been around for a while - the dreaded w*r* calling!
WM has been on and now TD is on.
HW all done, just a quick swish with the hoover later.
We are out Christmas Shopping later and then I hope to get on and get some cards made.
I think we are having dinner out, not OS, but a deserved treat as we have both worked extra long hours for overtime to clear the CC debt.
Made two hampers yesterday
Gardening one - RHS Diary, bulbs, seeds and two mugs with hot choc and some shortbread. Came in at just over £7.00 and is for a couple who we normally just buy some smellies or biscuits for at around £10 and even if I do say so myself looks much more expensive.
Movie one - DVD, small bottle of wine, coke, popcorn and some homemade sweets. This is for my friends daughter and is possibly the last time we will buy for her, she is almost 20, so rather than just getting something like a DVD I have made the effort to look like more thought has gone into it.
Have a good day.
Gilly
I love making customised hampers - I bet they look good.

Only 3 working days left and then I don't have to go back to that school. I feel so relieved. The atmosphere is terrible and the head is now bullying the next person she wants to leave. It's so blatantly obvious to all members of staff, it's quite embarassing to those looking on. The person being bullied has just contacted her union, but surely it shouldn't be like that
.
A couple of the children in my class have worked out that I'm leaving, as my photo isn't on the new "staff" board in the reception area. However, apparently a girl in the other year 5 class has said that I'm pregnant . I'M NOT. I'm telling the rest of the class on Monday and evidently will have to point out that I'm not leaving to have a baby........ The other year 5 teacher has said that she will tell her class that I'm not pregnant :rotfl:
Today I'm going with my mum to see The Spanish Riding School at the NEC. It's our "thank you" present to her (and supposedly my dad ) for helping to organise our wedding, but she's decided that she'll take me. We've booked a Holiday Inn Express for tonight. Tomorrow, I'm meeting DH and two friends at the Good Food Show at the NEC as friends have managed to get us cheap tickets. We've got tickets to see Ainsley Harriott in one of the theatres. I think my mum will tag along with us..... but she's been told not to cramp our style!
Have a good weekend everyone
Vicky
The Spanish Riding school is excellent - I saw it in Vienna and it was awesome.
I hope you haven't been driven out by bullying:(

Laptops - an excellent source of heat! Mine acts like a hot water bottle.iceicebaby wrote:Morning all
Not got much planned today. I'm currently cuddled up in bed with my laptop (the joys of wireless networking!) so I dont have to turn the heating on as yet!
Will get up a little bit later and then its housework and washing to be done. OH is coming up later on this afternoon for the night so I'll be cooking something yummy.
Take care everyone and have a nice day

Morning all. Well I'm relatively new to this board but not the site, but using it more trying to be a little more OS, save myself money and most of all time. Just started with the Flylady thing and must confess the sink shining was done first thing this morning as I didn't get it done last night as DS was poorly, I went upstairs to see to him and fell asleep with him oops!! But my goodness did I feel guilty this morning and did it straight away.
Housework mainly for me today, shed loads of washing to do again, children have gone to play upstairs so they'll no doubt make more mess for me to deal with. One day I might be more organised...........

dlb I think you handled the situation magnificently!
Queenie I hope you get time for a sit down today
I seem to be living my life around other people lately. I wish someone would fall in with my plans for a change. I wanted to go to a Christmas Fair last night that is held in a local school and is always fantastic but DH didn't want to go because of his ankle and DS had to go to scouts. Feeling really fed up as I am handling Christmas all on my own, the house needs blitzing and now someone is arriving for Boxing day with the in-laws and I have to buy another present for her and I don't know her or what she would like. I normally love christmas but I am starting to get really fed up with it all.

Well 2 loads have been done in the WM. Off to make 3 packed lunches, as we are off to Cannock for our final band competition!!!!!!
This is the nationals, so hopefully we will have done enough to move up a class and come home with a load of trophies.
Won't be back until about 8.30 so hope you all have a good rest/shop/clean/footie/baking............
Good luck with the competition

Dlb, wow, you must be feeling strange, sounds like you handled it perfectly.
Topher, don't be too hard on yourself. I hope you can rest this weekend.
Had an awful night here last night, children were up and down all night. dd has a temperature so must have picked up something.
Off to pick up a tv from a freecycle wanted add I placed. I have never placed a wanted add before but a lovely lady said they had one in their garage we could take. Ds is currently making her a card to say thanks. I really didn't want to have to buy a new one before we headed to Oz so this is perfect!
Dinner tonight is a "free" Beef Wellington, after a mess up in an online order I placed ( never ordered it in the first place but it looks good!). We are having a major clearout at the moment, so am clearing and ebaying for most of the day.
Hugs to everyone
