Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Name Dropper I've been Money Tipped!
I took advice on this from a trained chiropodist a few months ago. She said that UV light does not kill off fungal infections. And this is (in part) why it's banned in the USA. As someone who never ever lets a bare foot hit the floor at the gym (flip flops in the shower for me) there is no way I'd risk it. I've had athletes foot a few times in my life and am not in a hurry to get it again!

So I can buy the voucher only today for this price but I can use it in the next 4 months. Is this correct? I don't want to go for a fish pedicure tonight :D

People such as myself who keep many fish will understand why this is incredibly cruel :(
People who don't keep fish or who have a goldfish in a bowl won't understand and it's very complicated, but if someone said they were going to put dozens of dogs in a tiny cage and send dirty humans in one by one for the dogs to clean with their tongues, day in, day out, until they died, people would have something to say about it... and the fish pedicure thing is hundreds of times worse for the fish than that.
I understand that currently the practice is legal and that people will choose to use it but I'd like to appeal to those who haven't thought it through to spare a thought for the fish,
    Thanks :(

But aren't the fish sort of professionals at this- this is their natural behaviour- in Turkey they come up to your feet if you put them in the rivers and nibble them? I agree there should be some r and r and a nicer environment for them but I don't see the parallel with dogs.

It is natural for many breeds of dogs to attack - should we encourage them to do so? There is nothing natural about taking any animal out of their natural habitat and making them do something.
    Gone ... or have I?

Well...the dogs would harm people if they attacked. The biggest danger from the fish seems to be athlete's foot.

ive tried this couple of years back when i went to singapore and its... entertaining...i was hesitant at first but did it for experience. fish comes to your feet and very ticklish i was laughing half of the time...the more fish your feet attracts means the more cleaning(?) it needs.

only certain types of fish are used.

they dont change the water tank every client hence, not hygenic.

and yes, my mom said it is banned in the US.

feet feels so different and smooth after it.
i wish i have live my life a little bit off the book, took a chance and gamble
