A 69p bottle of Aldi window cleaner mixed up with water in a 5 litre container made a beautiful screenwash. Why is that so difficult to work out? Much cheaper than the one you buy surely?0

This MSE thread seems to suggest 500ml of Lidl mega-concentrated screenwash is £1, and can be used 1:100 ->

Less than 2p a litre when watered down, for actual screenwash. That's some kind of crazy bargain.0 -

Will have to keep an eye out for that. I suppose in the winter you would have to be more careful with the mix, but the window cleaner plus water is making my windscreen sparkling clean throughout these warmer months.0 -

I love Ilona's blog too. The bags she makes are something else, and the resourcefulness with which she tackles day-to-day challenges is fascinating, from taking her time shopping in order to be able to strike when the best reductions are on offer, to cobbling together a fix for a decaying back door. The photos she takes on her walking tours are beautiful, and the stories of her rescued cats and the other animals she has associations with are often quite heartwarming. Savings would have to be quite substantial for me to want to wear boy's pants, and the idea turns me off enough for it to be an area where I don't mind spending a few extra pennies, so in a way I think it's a shame that it's probably what Ilona is most famous for - there's so much more to her.Freddie Starr Ate My Signature
