    Hi Krackingtoast,

As your thread has dropped down the board I've added it to the existing thread on super scrimpers to keep the discussion in one place.

    Hi Ceridwen

What is Googlefilms?! It sounds most interesting. (Mind you, any free films anywhere are interesting! :rotfl:)

I have tried to find it at Google - of course! - but to no avail.

What is the URL for "Googlefilms"? - or is it "Google Films" (for which I've also :D Googled!)

    Thanks

Just been off and checked - and they've changed things:(. Swear I used to readily be able to find a sorta index of what they have at one point - but cant find it now.

So - its a more "hit and miss" process now and goes:

    - and then put in the name of a specific film you are hoping to see and hope its in there:(

    So - for instance:

    1. http://video.google.co.uk/

    2. Type in "Soylent Green" (a film I know they have in there) and up comes several links and you scan through the ones that arent applicable (ie because they're just short YouTube clips) until you find the full film.

So - that particular film turns out to be:

    http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=1296155071179146825#

There is another website - though its just documentaries:

Allot of stuff on Super Scrimpers came from Kim & Aggie's How Clean Is Your House - for cleaning things anyway. There was a proven link between sales of the Washing Soda Crystals made by Derbyshire firm Dri-Pac and Kim & Aggie's show. Also vinegar sales went up considerably as well. Kim also originally demo'ed the coke down the loo bit as well!

I did watch the show, but to be honest allot of stuff most of us were already doing anyway!

  • What a great programme! I didn't hear of the existence of this prog at all till after it was broadcast on TV, so had to watch all 8 episodes at C4's website!

Just to update: the programme is still! avail online to watch!

Info re the programme & presenters is at C4 URL:

{apologies to all but it appears that I cannot cite the actual URLs for the C4 website!! here at the MSE forum, as the forum has just stated, after I tried to post this message!, "Sorry as a new user you are not allowed to post with links. This is done to stop spammers clogging up the site. Please edit your message below to continue."

    So - instead of citing a URL - I'll have to imply the URLs!:}

A webpage re the entire series is at: Search/Google for "Channel4 programmes" & "superscrimpers-waste-not-want-not".

The programme itself can be watched at C4 OnDemand at URL: It can be found at the C4 URL ending "4od#3205011".

:T There is also a great informational webpage for each prog in the series (e.g. Prog 1's recap webpage can be found at the C4 'Super Scrimpers' URL ending "articles/episode-1-recap"). The advantage of these recap pages is in case you don't note down, during the programme broadcast, any key facts you later want, as they are reiterated at the recap page; e.g. this is great for recipes. There is a recap page for each of the 8 programmes.

    Go Channel4!

  • Superscrimpers has a Christmas show on Wednesday 14 December at 8pm and on Channel 4 website is showing as episode 1 of series 2. Should be worth a look.
