    Hilarious and so true!

That silly student this week. Do you really have to be that stupid to go to university these days? It made me so angry that Mrs M said 'I'll allow you £100 p/m for your beauty budget' I couldn't afford anything near that and I WORK full time!!!
this is the first one i've watched (and the programme irritated me enough to search for a thread on it!).... it really paints students badly. the kind of image that really doesn't help (i'm sure some students are that bad, but plenty aren't and things like this make them all get lumped together).

anyway, didn't make it to the second half of the show and won't be watching again.... not really useful for anyone with half a brain!

I was even more shocked by the cost of the average contents of a make-up bag (was it around £350?) Not in mine they don't!

Does anyone watch Make Do and Mend on Channel 4? I quite like that. It's probably repeats that i'm watching as 10am doesn't seem a place for a new programme to be shown.

I must admit I like watching the tips part of the programme best, even though I havent learnt anything yet that I didnt already know, I like to see it in action and also to nose at peoples houses!

I watched the first few episodes of superscrimpers then stopped. Maybe its just me but I get a bit p'd off with programme makers thinking the viewing public are all idiots. It is one of the most *staged* shows I have ever seen. I don't see how they can claim to be giving out advice when they do not even address the *guest twit who has got themselves in debt hahaha, lets all laugh at the silly people!!!*) problems. Yet again, a really good chance to inform has been utterly wasted . I also watched a couple of make do and mend but again found it to be a wasted opportunity. I will say it is much better than superscrimpers but it could go much further. One episode I watched had a woman shopping in a charity shop for a wedding outfit. No problem there. She picked up a red dress that I thought not very nice in any way and thought the resident seamstress would do something stunning with it. She teamed it with a black patent belt and some not very nice black jewellry. That was it. A not very nice dress from a charity shop to go to a wedding in. The dress did not even suit her. I'm quite sure she had much nicer things in her wardrobe already. I'm not putting the show down out of hand (honest!) but it would surely have been better to show how to take a charity shop bargain and make it look great. Sorry, I've come across as really negative but these shows are more likely to put people off - especially youngsters - instead of showing that frugality is actually a pretty darn good way to lead your life.

Totally agree with all this....I just find them compelling viewing! Maybe I just like shouting at the TV...:o

Oh watched this with me last night for the first time and is now worried that I will turn into an ecentric old lady with my MSE ways. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I like the man with the DIY tips but the women with the red hair and glasses and her boys pants made me cringe.

    .

Ha ha, sorry about that. My red hair is fading a bit now, needs re doing. I make me cringe sometimes. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
