Liking the blokey tips as well...............my OH would do well to use the tip about lining the paint roller tin with foil.......everytime he paints he seems to need to have to go out and get a new one
I liked that tip too, I get paint everywhere if I try to wash a roller tray (and have wooden worktops so replacing them could cost more than a new roller tray!) so I usually wrap them in a bin liner if I need it for a second coat of the same colour then throw it away and buy a new one, I'll definitely try that in future.Make £25 a day in April £0/£750 (March £584, February £602, January £883.66)
December £361.54, November £322.28, October £288.52, September £374.30, August £223.95, July £71.45, June £251.22, May£119.33, April £236.24, March £106.74, Feb £40.99, Jan £98.54) Total for 2017 - £2,495.100 -
Can I just say I was most disappointed that there was no mention of bread pudding this week.......:rotfl:
OH had a good laugh at the plant labels as I've done that for ages but I tend to use a milk carton as the bigger tubs i.e. ice cream ones, are bird baths, storage and planters....But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
I couldn't get over that silly little student:eek::eek:Talk about spending a mint with no noticeable results:D;)"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Im usually at work when this program is on but Im off for 5 wks after a hand op and watched for the 1st time last night. I had been reading this thread so I knew some of what to be expecting
What a load of toshI have been using the tips they gave last night for years as I have been a single mum Ive had to be careful with money
. The paint tip, I have always used cling film on my trays and the face scrub is a bit harsh with lemon, I have used some olive oil with sugar
When I had a bath (now only got a shower) I used to wash all of my empty shampoo, body lotion etc into the bath before washing, I didnt care what it was I couldn't waste anything :rotfl: I still rince them onto a sponge and scrub myself but not as much as I used to
The only new thing I didn't know already was to use a carrot to get a broken bulb out of the light fitting
Not impressed with this program at allGetting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

I think the best review I've read of last week's show is this.
While it's absurd and slightly sweary, but it did sum up some of the things I was thinking about it.
Thanks for that, it was the funniest thing I've read in ages!!
Hilarious and so true!
That silly student this week. Do you really have to be that stupid to go to university these days? It made me so angry that Mrs M said 'I'll allow you £100 p/m for your beauty budget' I couldn't afford anything near that and I WORK full time!!!It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0 -

Oh watched this with me last night for the first time and is now worried that I will turn into an ecentric old lady with my MSE ways. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I like the man with the DIY tips but the women with the red hair and glasses and her boys pants made me cringe.
I suppose this programme is not aimed at a lot of people who use this site but remember there are a lot of people out there at the moment who are currently having to re-evaluate there lives and their spending habits. I feel lucky that I grew up in a frugal household and continued in this lifestyle as a single parent but there are people out there (including my OH) who have never had to worry finacially or are able to fools themselves, that debit is not a bad thing and can be managed.:( and wouldnt have the firs clue where to start.
