Please please please if anyone tries the washing liquid in the car lock, thoroughly wash the area of the paintwork where it runs. It will destroy the paint.

Ever seen the pink once red cars? That's down to washing the cars with washing up liquid.

No thats due to the fact that red pigment is more affected by UV light than other colours

She is wearing some very expensive clothes, what looks like an Hermes scarf and Designer wear. She looks great but I get the feeling that she is in this business too late.

    Some excellent tips though.
She could, to be fair, be picking up these bargains in charity shops.

It's doubtful, but I just thought I'd throw it out there!

The best way to get a pro nail polish job is: a good 'sticky' base coat, very thin first coat and nice, not too thick and gloopy second coat of colour and then a good, glossy top coat, sealed at the top edge of the nail. Practice is completely essential.

And yea, oxtail!! I picked some up at the supermarket a while back... £4 for one 'chunk' Chefs and trendy people have pushed the cost, same with a few other cuts - chefs using them in recipes = higher demand = higher cost.

I'm not keen on the strong, strong iron taste in liver. I have tried though, I make pate and everyone loves it (Tamsin Day Lewis recipe, dead easy!) but I can only manage a really small amount. It's just too strong :(

Every animal has a neck, liver, kidneys - just because most people dont eat them doesn't mean they don't exist. Just ask for them from a butcher - if he doesn't sell the offal he has to pay to get rid of it, so he will be delighted to help.

I noticed mrs m travelling first class too, but remember the prog doesn't describe her as a scrimper but as a money savvy guru ( or something like that). I guess she represents the 'saving money without affecting your lifestyle' ethos that our very own Martin often refers to. Can't believe I'm sticking up for her!

What is it with Ch4 having to dress their female show experts in a "uniform"? As well as Mrs M's orange hat there's Supernanny with that black suit and red belt, Ruth when on Hotel Inspector the necklaces and coats, then Alex the same earrings and red bag every show. It's me or the dog had Victoria Stilwell in her Miss Whiplash gear. I'm sure there's more, it's very odd.

I've been buying Shin beef for a while, but I'm paying more than they claimed so I might check our local butchers prices.

Yes, not particularly impressed although I might make a lip balm I suppose!

It all seemed a bit of a faff though and I would wonder at the expense of beeswax and whatever else she used plus fuel costs.

After all I have had a small jar of vaseline for absolutely ages and I find that better than any lip balm

anyone else feeling sorry for sky and virgin customer services tomorrow? How many calls do you think thy will be getting threatening to leave?

Thats what we said when we saw it! They'll probably have some staff memo go around telling them not to give any discounts!:D
  • I used to travel by first class for work as well as it was fully expensed and i was expected to work on the train. I used to bring home all the 'free food' (which is included in the ticket price) so i would probably class that as being quite economical and savvy.....

I don't expect that Martin Lewis follows all the tips on this site either, each to their own ;)
