Got home at 2.00. Just had lunch, the eldest 2 will be home in about 15 min. Need to get DC1's case for cub camp and get them to the train station for 3.55 to get the train. DH picking us up from the train station, then we will take eldest to camp. Will pick up a take away on the way home.

Right off to double check the camp list.

    Afternoon all

HH - I'm another one who says you should appeal

Another fabulous day here :D walked to work in the sunshine. colleague collected my work kids as I still can't drive minibus. then we went raft building in the dock outside my flat! The kids built an impressive looking raft......which collapsed more or less as soon as they got in the water :rotfl: they loved it though and were all climbing back on and jumping off! me and colleague just 'supervised' from the edge whilst catching a tan :D.

Afterwards, colleague took work kids back and dropped me off at office on way. No-one was there so I quickly did what I needed to then skived off an hour early ;). I walked home the long way, through the park, round the pond, via the ice cream van and then sat by the beach, bliss :) I can't believe it's Friday, this week has flown by.

OS wise - WM is on with the bits I want to take to London on Sunday, DW will go on overnight. Dinner will either be freezer surprise or a takeaway :o.

I feel like I should be doing something tonight but I'm all out of energy so think I'll just sit on balcony for a bit reading and then watch some tv later.

    Have a good evening all

    Hello folks.

Just gathering my strength to get my carboot sale stuff sorted out. Its in my living room taunting me when all I really want to do is go to bed :o Dinner tonight for the menfolk is probably curried something, and I am having HM Saag paneer. :) Without the bread :(

Hope you all have a nice evening, I shall be having an early night once I have cut the OH's hair.

HH - that's terrible, makes you wonder?
Not had a chance to post this week, don't know where the time went. DD was cycling to meet me at the pool on tuesday and we were going for a swim. I arrived to find DD covered from head to toe in a rash. Took her to A&E where she was put on a piriton drip, given steroids and set up for heart monitors, etc. Very frightening. She is fine now but we have no idea what caused it, DS2 suggested exercise induced anaphalaxis (it is real) but who knows.
That kind of put me off for the rest of the week, managed to get to the hospice for a shift which I really enjoyed. I have re-booked my flight to oz for July and DD wants to go back as long as all the medical bits and bobs have been dealt with.
Have been really good this week cooking proper meals and having salads for lunch. Just a shame I eat everything else in sight in between! Must get focused again and eat sensibly.

Hope you are all feeling good for the weekend, hugs to those in need. Take care. XX

    Evening everyone.

It's been a bit weird here - the sun woke me at 6.30, and I had such plans for today...
things started going haywire about 1pm. DW on, WM on with some dyeing stuff in it, wholemeal mix in the BM, acid-dyed wool bubbling away on the cooker.
Then the beeping started. Not my phone, not the BM. It's the carbon monoxide monitor. The lights were flashing and the beeping was so loud that both sets of neighbours came round to see if I was OK. I was OK , as the garden tiger, but had to call the BG people. They came round within the hour, checked it, found nothing wrong, then switched off the gas at the main. It has to be checked by a professional before we can have our heat and cooker back on, but DH has a mad idea to switch it on tomorrow and test the CO levels with a new monitor. I can't say that I'm convinced by him, but we'll see. I've rung an engineer, but I'm waiting for someone to get back to me.

So .. I've got ten skeins of wool drip drying on the clothes horse, a smallish BM loaf wrapped up in the fridge.. and a pizza delivery on its way,I hope!
I'm glad we've got power, if no heat or hot water, and I'm sure we can go next door for a shower if we're desperate. We've got a warm duvet and loads of jumpers, etc, to wrap up in if we need it.

Big hugs and thoughts to everyone who need them. HH- that social worker has got their knickers in a twist. I agree with whoever suggested getting the MP involved.

    Take care. XX

Not long home from work, came home to some bad news, Oh's cousin, 52, has been diagnosed with lung cancer and it has spread to her ribcage too, dont know if it has spread further, OH didnt really take in the phone call. She had breast cancer a few years ago, and they had given her the all clear from that. A long course of chemo looms for her. It brings back the long fight my dear dad had, and 3 more close relatives since he passed nearly 2 years ago! Keeping everything crossed that any symptoms are helped by the chemo and she's not in too much pain!
    RIP Iain
