Hester....... bloody petty minded beureaucrats do my head in  This is the main reason I won't have anything to do with bloody social workers -they are a useless waste of space in my opinion.
Write to your MP and get him on board it might help.

Another lovely day and three loads of washing on the line and the last load in now.

Plan for today is to have a look at the incredibly long and prying census form :( because it has to be done by Sunday or you get fined...... here we go again with more bloody beureaucracy

I have got to go and get some bread made so BFN x

Hester can you appeal? that's so awful :(
Lowsey - have a great time; I sent my parents there for a Christmas present a couple of years ago and they loved it.

I did the census form too. Irrelevant invasive waste of money that it is. Resisted the urge to be sarcastic as I can't afford to be fined for flippancy.

Got loads of tesco vouchers to spend; but not driving makes it hard as a shop for that amount would be quite heavy. Might just buy gin and be done with it :)

I made sausage rolls, sausageless rolls and a pear and almond tart last night - so I have removed the catering tine of pears, the last of the lard, the last of the ground almonds and the random box of sage and onion stuffing from the randoms list. I made a sort of bean roast thing for dinner using the aduki beans, kidney beans and other bits - so we had that sliced for tea with roast sweet potato, spicy tomato sauce and rice. OH has chicken for tea tonight, I will eat the rest of the bean thing. I have sausageless rolls for lunch (just used sage and onion stuffing as the filling for these). Put the recycling out as I left, filled the washing machine, but didn't start it.

We have another house viewing on Sunday; but it's a repo (I only found out when I rang them), so I'm nervous about bidding for it if it turns out okay as I know it can be super stressful. But it looks like a wonderful house. Areas not super great (we looked at one down there last week); but it's liveable.

This came up on my rightmove feed. I want it; but OH isn't convinced. He's looking for a 3-bed family home; I'm not sure I want sensible. I sleepwalk though, so I guess it might not be a good plan really. I want to go, see, but I know I'll just want it more if I do.

The EA on the first one is hassling us a bit to up the offer, but I really don't want to go any higher - if they reject, then they reject; it's not worth more than that to me. I was slightly more than annoyed when I mailed them with a list of questions relating to the build style (it's an easiform), the building regs complience of the alterations and the nature of the covenants. And they phoned OH to give him the answers?!? *woohh hoo* *waves* *over here*. I was so annoyed. OH is really not on the ball when it comes to English law at all so doesn't really understand what I was asking (I did explain, but...), but either I've scared the carp out of the EA or he's deliberately talking to the man of the house; in which case I can see us not getting on well at all. I must admit I've noticed that a lot - if it's me that's making the appointments, I expect to be greeted first, for example. Maybe I'm just being angry. *insert confused smiley that doesn't exist any more* I'm used to working in a male dominated environment, but I've been ignored like this before.

Ah well, better get back to work! cel x

  • I need to forage around in the shed to see what I am Ebaying ( it is like a computer graveyard in there:o)

and a 2 person pop up tent used once
    A huge rucksack used twice.

Oo Cel, once I'd seen that house I'm not sure I'd feel like being sensible either! It's beautiful isn't it?! As for EA's they were forever ringing me when they couldn't get hold of DH, expecting me to know what they'd discussed with him and really stressing me out until he flipped and told them that if they harrassed his pregnant wife once more he'd pull out, out of spite :rotfl:Only language they understand I'm afraid :D

Hester -you're saying that they've turned you down flat - so not even proceeding with CRB check???? I'd definitely appeal if I were you. Your job involves working with young people and clearly you're "suitable" for that so what on earth are they basing this on? Makes me mad - and I'm sure you are entitled to know their reasons. Probably expecting you to just go along with it - they don't know our Hester, do they??
Not sure what OS will be going on bhere today, although certainly I need to make more bread. Don 't thnk I have enough washing to make a full load. House not too bad for once. HM soup from freezer for lunch - it's a hot pepper one, so I think I'll make some tiny dumplings to go with. Lamb casserole tonight (uing a pack of lamb I found hiding in the freezer earlier!)
Mainly paperwork today I think. Day in London at a meeting tomorrow. not over -exciting and will generate more minutes for me to write up later!
Hope you all have agood day. Take care.

    Morning

Another nice day here. Washing basket is empty (wont be for long i'm sure) so I stripped the kids bed and washed the bedding and it is now outside on the line.

Kitchen is back to normal after last nights dinner as we left the dishes as CBA. Was asleep for 9.30 last night.

Census has been filled in and I'm going to have a surf for an hour before I head up to school for an assembly.

Back at work tonight for 4 nights but then i'm off for a fortnight :j
so i will go to bed when the kids get in from school and OH from work (should get 3 hours)

I have ordered the GI book so hoping this will be here before next Wed when I start my Low GI diet.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Afternoon all,

Hester...makes you wonder how so many pae***hiles manage to stay on the loose, doesn't it?? I certainly agree with others that you should appeal the decision, how dare they!

Not quite so warm here to-day, have hung out washing, done kitchen floor, hoovered hall, stairs and landing and had a chat with DD3, who is off for her medical for Oz visa this afternoon. Thought that I had been very busy until I saw Julie's post!

Going to have ChocClare's chicken for dinner, with rice, stewed rhubarb and custard to follow. Need to make some bread too, forgot last night and the soda bread that OH bought this morning is ok, but sweet....hate sugar in soda bread, just doesn't belong!!

Hoping to finish sleeves (short) on DD3's jacket to-night, might get it sewn up over weekend and then do collar, have taken several days off from knitting while I have been doing this so it seems to have taken a very long time to get to this stage.

Looking forward to spinning class to-morrow.

    Have a good day all

    Marie
