morning all - thanks for all of ds' birthday wishes yesterday. we had a great day. went to a farm with so much to do. ds was exhausted and in bed by about 6.45 last night and is still snoring away. will just leave him to wake when he is ready today rather than get him up for nursery. he can have a day at home to play with all his new toys that i've somehow got to find a home for :undecided
today i will going to baking his cake for tomorrow. we're meeting with friends and all of their little ones. a big picnic in the park. everybody is bringing some food with them although we will take ds'. they've all arranged who is bringing what and i've been told to just bring the cake! they offered to account for him but told them not to worry as it will make things complicated. we have lots of picnic stuff left from yesterday that he can eat so its already sorted. if it rain tomorrow thwn we will go to the soft play.
then on sunday we're off to alans family. we asked them to hold off giving him his presents yesterday as he was overwhelmed with presents as it was and i know they've got him big stuff. they are going to have a little tea for him as well.
writing all of that i'm thinking bloomin heck he's only turning two! but we've been to hell and back several times over in the past year or so. i kind of want to make it up to him. i want him to feel like the special little boy he is.
anyway i only came to thank everyone:o thanks again :rotfl:

Morning all
Sun is now breaking through, looks like being another lovely day here. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Dinner last night was HM lasagne, menfolk had chips with theirs and I had salad, also cooked some part-baked rolls to accompany. Made a really big lasagne so 2 portions been frozen for another day. Menfolk then had ice-creams for dessert, I was so full from my lasagne and cup of coffee was enough for me.
Went to the scales yesterday and have lost another 2lb, not quite sure how, as haven't ran for 2 weeks but have kept a closer eye on my portion control and how much alcohol I've been drinking, so will be looking to lose another 1lb for total weight loss of 4 stone, then need to lose another 5-6 lb then I'll be where I want to be!
Was very productive yesterday, house had a very good clean, so today i need to do the ironing, bank, shopping and then baking/cooking.
Am loving this weather, have got a line of washing dried every day this week, now going to put another out.
Have a great Friday everyone x
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning all!
Glorious sunshine again, long may this weather continue! Will be doing the usual round of S&S, washing, hoovering and cooking here today. Ordered a buggy and car seat yesterday and it's due to be delivered today, so hoping it arrives before I go out at lunchtime, ds will be here this afternoon if it doesn't, but there will be a gap between him getting home and me leaving, so fingers crossed they don't deliver then! Need to pick up the moses basket and rocker that I ordered as well today. Feeling quite organised about the babe, seems funny having to buy stuff all over again after just passing it from one to another with my other children, but after 10 years I've given everything away!
Out to lunch with best friend, and then meant to be out this evening with an old school friend. We are organising next year's reunion for a group of our school pals, so will be investigating suitable places that will keep everyone happy! There is a magic bar, literally a bar where they do magic, which sounds interesting, and tables can be reserved, so that sounds promising.
Lunch for kids: marmite sarnies (their request), lemon cake, cereal bar (what a treat!), clems (hooray for ys last night when I finished work), and cheese
Dinner: may well be beef rendang, as spotted some sliced beef in the freezer and have a feeling it's on the menu plan as a quick roast, but not sure it's quite the weather for a roast! Meal plan is in the kitchen, I'm currently upstairs, hence lack of certainty!
All quiet here at the mo, after the usual chaos coincided with the milkman knocking to collect his money, me running round hunting for my chequebook, dd3's friend knocking for her and the key getting stuck in the lock, and dd3 remembering she needed to take in her sponsorship today! Coupled with dd1 yelling that dd2 was getting in her way whilst she was trying to brush her teeth, dd2 yelling back that there was no toothpaste in their bathroom, and dd2's French book hiding itself! Poor milkman just looked stunned, tho bless him, he did lend me his pen to write dd3's cheque and sign a letter for dd2!
Time for a catch up and another cup of lady grey methinks, have a good day all xx
Edit to say:
HH - totally bonkers, perhaps a letter questioning such a wrong decision would help - often people seem to respond better when they have to justify their nonsense! CRB checks are all well and good, but really I do wonder how many people they actually weed out who should be stopped, and how many they refuse to pass who they ought to be pleased want to help and work with children!

DC1 at Cub Camp this weekend. I have to pop into town and pick a few things up. He has to be there at 5.00 so I have to take the brood on the train to the city for DH to pick us up and then take us on to the camp. So the meal plan is going out the window tonight and we will have take away when we get back:o Will just move the plan on a day so the new one starts on Tuesday.
Hester that is bloomin' ridiculous , I hope you are going to appeal.
Mioliere, enjoy your afternoon. I am so pleased your DIL seems to be managing with feeding her DD. Hope BIL recovers and the chemo does it job.
NPM, hope DH's migraine gets better. What sort of stuff are you putting up on Ebay. Though I say that, I think we have just about everthing we need now.
esmf, that is our ultimate goal, to get a van. We started with a tent and now have a trailer tent.
Bedebtfree, what a lovely idea for your DD.
It sounds like he is having a fantastic birthday Loulou. Hope the weekend goes well.
:T nmlc, well done on the weight loss.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Morning All,
HH how ridiculous:mad: the mind boggles
Lou glad your little un had a good day and enjoy the picnic and family presents, my DGS is 2 in May ad can't wait to spoil him
A cloudy start but looks as if it might brighteen up. Lots of flying to do today so that we can spend tomorrow in the garden and then DGS lands at 5 and nothing will get done until he has gone home, but we do love having him. The family descend at 1.00 on Sunday so it will be about 6 ish before I sit down pheww:eek:
A nice meal out with my friend last night and managed to have a chicken salad so really pleased, 2 meals out and stuck to low GI (this is normally my excuse to eat what I want, my daughter was amazed!)
Anyway when I got back you could have cut the air with a knife as DH and DS3 had had words. My son works for his dad as an engineer and he goes here there and everywhere and is just not organised, often leaves tools behind and has to borrow his dads, to the point were his dad is having to organise his work and tools the night before so he doesn't forget anything. Well DH has had enough and told him straight that if he works for him its his responsibility to get everything sorted otherwise why is he paying his wages, nobody was speaking, anyway DS3 went out and sorted his car out last night, cleaned his room and this morning had done a wash load hung it on the maiden before we got up and had gone to work:eek: we always have to drag hm out of bed, so maybe he had taken what his dad has said on board. He is almost 22 and it probably sounds harsh but we are fed up of babying him, its really time he stood on his own 2 feet.
Need to clean the oven today as well, but need to take the glass off as it seems to bee inside.
Anway onwards and upwards, have a good day peeps xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning.
Lou your post brought tears to my eyes. Have a hug honey. xx
Hester I am mad on your behalf, what a shower of idiots. The CRB testing here is different, but they use any existing Disclosure reference to cross check for your new one. What a silly carry on.
Day off today. Life is taking some turns this week, and significant changes are happening, not least my boys walking to school on their own. No big deal, you may say, but the school is about a mile and a quarter away and over a really busy road with no crossing patrol. My heart is in my mouth just thinking about it, but DS1 especially is having to learn to be more responsible, and its a good progression for him.
MIL has started the process of clearing her home out, she is still determined to go ahead with her move abroad, and as the time approaches I am finding myself more and more upset about it, in fact I am in tears just now, typing it, so enough of that subject.
Car boot tomorrow with my darling sister so today is about clearing through the boys' stuff that I have brought down from MIL's house, and to collect some more to sort through, then down to my DS's house to go through the stuff we have stored there. I also need to clear this place too. I am carbooting the SC too - it is taking up space and not in enough use to justify it.
Made bread and flatbreads last night for the menfolk, I am about to make some soup, I have carrots to use up.
Have a good day everyone, OS or not.
