Filming kids in park

people on these boards really need to learn to read
the OP's situation:
the camera is on/in a private premises
it is filming a public place
you, with camera, whilst in a public place, are legally allowed to photograph & film that public place
& again:
photographer IN PUBLIC photographing other people IN PUBLIC
http://www.nfh.org.uk/resources/Articles/cctv/part_2.php
This is irrelevant. Public space is public space, no matter if you are on private ground or not. You can photograph whatever you like in either direction, subject only to restrictions based on intent (eg Obscene Publications Act) or course of action (eg Harrassment).
Then there is the matter of private space where a reasonable assumption of public access applies (eg Public Rights of Way) - Same thing, you can assume the right to photograph until you are either asked to desist or warned by notice. In a right of way/open space situation, it would be unlikely that any restriction could be upheld.
Your article also mentions "justification" - which is where that opinion falls down IMO. Your right to "quiet enjoyment" of your property and rights to safety and security under the Human Rights Act also apply - Which would justify your recording activity in public or private areas adjacent to your property (within reason) and would be held over the DPA in almost all circumstances.0 -

Somewhere like Windsor Great Park is private property so you would need to ask the Queen if it is OK to use your camera there0 -
I have just kicked the Sh*t out of an 89 year old man. He was sitting in the park on a park bench reading a copy of the Daily Mail and eating a cheese sandwhich. I just thought this was very suspicious so I decided that he must be a Kiddy Fiddler and deserved to be beaten up. Then I though, hang on what am I doing in a park there were children playing football within at least 75 feet of me. I too must be a kiddy fiddler so I have decided to hang myself tonite as I can't deal with the shame.
O,k a bit over the top I admit and we really should not joke about such a disgusting and serious subject but the hysteria over it really gets to me. I wonder what the actual figures per 10000 of the population would be as to how many are kiddy fiddling scum.Iva started Dec 2018.0 -

Well sort of. Basically in Windsor Great Park it's OK unless the Queen gets someone to tell you not to. Basically if you're allowed in, the right to take photos can be withdrawn (as it is at some schools to stop certain types of parents whining) but it often isn't.0 -

You idiot ! If he was reading the Daily [STRIKE]Wail[/STRIKE] Mail he was perfectly safe - The Mail, and its readers, denounce these perverts so that the rest of us can recognise them. Now - if it had been the Guardian...................Well sort of. Basically in Windsor Great Park it's OK unless the Queen gets someone to tell you not to. My comment was made half in jest...........:D
Many such private places allow photography by default - however you must be careful as to what use you put photographs taken in such places.0 -
those cameras may well have been allowed/provided by the police, not by private individuals, for the purpose of evidence collection.
cctv evidence presented in courts has to meet certain standards, cheap home security cameras generally dont meet those standards.
therefore the police may provide suitable equipment for a period of time.
how do you know that they arnt filming?
Looks like the post below yours just blew you out the water.. I even checked today because i actually deal with installation of CCTV in some cases for big companies and i cant find any legislation that forbids it from capturing people in a public place if its on private property - that includes banks and such like which have cameras facing towards the front of their properties including the public pathways and highways..

Sorry, wasn't criticising you, but discussing the point you raised in your joke. A lot of people seem to think I don't get jokes because I do this!0 -

Well we asked the old lady the other day as we noticed there was also one in her bedroom window and she said she is recording the park to protect the children from druggies. Must say I visit the park most evenings after school in the summer never once saw a druggie and my sis bf lives next door, his garden backs onto the park also and hes never once seen druggies in the park.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

Maybe the old lady just thinks there are druggies in the park so is looking for proof.0
