How to tempt an ill dog?

My vet diagnosed renal failure in my pooch last week. We were told to feed her "anything she will eat" as her appetite keeps failing. As you all seem to enjoy cooking, can you please suggest some meals I can give her that may tempt her to eat? I have been cooking her value chicken pieces in the slow cooker but she is getting a bit fed up of this now. I was going to try her on some liver but thought I would ask here for advice/help/ideas here first.

Our old vet used to recommend scrambled eggs or white fish for poorly dogs - easy to digest apparently and worked for all of ours. HTH0

Most dogs love liver cake. Think there was a recipe on the pet board, will try to find it.

Our mutley absolutely hoovers anything up if it has fish in it and is treated to the odd tin of sardines and pilchards, but the best buy I found were Mr S basics white fillets - cheap as anything just because they are not consistent shapes and we used to use these mixed with brown rice whenever he got digestive upsets. Tuna is apparently quite good for them too.
Fish4Dogs also do a salmon mousse which is marketed as an appetite stimulant - probably quite pricey but I would imagine if you are anything like me you will just be grateful to find something to tempt them.0 -
My dog loves Sardines in oil with cold boiled potatoes, that's her treat meal. She goes nuts for it, lol! It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Garlic sausage or Salami will tempt most dogs - nuke for a few seconds in the microwave to really get the smells going!
Fishy tinned cat food is good too, again warmed slightly so it smells lovely (to a dog!).
Good luck in tempting your dog xSome days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -
Home made fairy cakes. It's the only thing that got my Poppy eating after her operation last year. She has a very sweet tooth though so be careful of her sugar intake!
Oh and cheese. My dogs love cheese!I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Try grating a bit of extra mature cheddar on the top or a couple of teaspoons of cod liver oil or some ovenbake the skin of the chicken until crispy. Could maybe try ready brek or savoury baby food.
Maybe some fresh tripe and slow cooked in some milk?:heartpuls The best things in life aren't things :heartpuls

My friend's Dad swears by
Scrambled egg and if that does not work tinned pilchards - the strong taste apparently gets their taste buds going

When our dog was very poorly I used to make chicken casserole for her, I'd cook a whole chicken in quite a lot of water, with some veggies in it. I'd then strip the chicken and blend the veggies and the cooking liquid to make a gravy. I'd then return the chicken and add some rice.
When she was properly poorly I used to hand feed her this chicken stew!Piglet
