Not biscuits but you could try making liver cake.
350g liver (but any amount will do)
    1 egg
    2 cloves of garlic ( I use more )
    1 tbsp olive oil
    150g of self raising flour

Chuck everything except the flour in a food processor and mix till it's mush, add the flour and mix through, it should look a bit like cake mix ( apart from the colour ), if it's to runny shove more flour in, to thick shove in more oil. I line a baking tray with foil, put the mix in and shove it in an oven for about 20 mins at gas 6 test to see if it's cooked all the way through, when mine is done I turn it onto another tray take the foil of and put it back into the oven which is now of, it just makes the bottom less springy ( you don't have to do it this way ), cut it into small bits and be prepared to be followed all over the park by dogs you've never met before. The cake will keep in the fridge for about 5 days or once cut up it can be frozen.

    WARNING
your house will stink to high heaven and you need a strong stomach to liquidize liver.

Go on give it a try, I'm a veggie and I can do it. You could always check out Willows Kitchen at it's a spring thing ( http://www.itsaspringthing.net/feeding/willowskitchen.php ) loads of things there for you to try.
  • If your just after a rusk type biscuit to go with food then my mum used to cut up and bake (in her oven with heat left over from cooking meals) the crusts and any stale wholemeal bread, the dogs all loved it and her last goldie lived to nearly 15!

Spooky! I was only thinking about this last week. I did find some recipes but never got round to making them. However, I did use up some pitta breads, put peanut butter in the middle and baked them in a slow oven - he loved them (he's a real peanut butter fan :)), but oh... so many crumbs!!
  • hi this is the basic recipie i use you can add cheese peanut butter broken up dog choc buttons or anything else you can think of dog safe obviously lol.

    BASIC CRUNCHY BISCUITS

    2 1/2 cups wholemeal flour
    3/4 cup milk powder
    1 tsp sugar
    1 tsp salt
    1 egg
    6 tblsp oil
    3/4 cup oil

mix all ingredients together to make dough. roll out on a floured board and cut into shapes. place on a baking tray.
bake for approx 25min at 350F until hard and dry allow to cool.

these are quick to make and use ingredients that are easy to find and my dog loves them. i tralled the internet and these were the easiest i found.

part cook the liver makes less mess in food processor, cos liver gets everywhere and i round out with pin between two sheets of tin foil
