MSE News: Winter fuel payments cut in secret Budget measure

I receive pension credit and welcome the WFA. We have storage heaters and although we pay £85 per month on DD towards electric, this is not enough and needs to be topped up ever year. We use about 50% of the WFA to do this and with the rest we pay off any arrears on any other utility account or buy a little extra because for the rest of the year we struggle to make ends meet.
We cannot afford to pay more than the £85 per month as our income takes a severe knock. We live in a 1 bedroom bungalow with all the normal type insulation but with arthritis we need to keep the temperature up otherwise I am crippled.
I cannot believe some of the very nasty posts on this thread. Perhaps they do not realise that one day they will be old also!0
