Luxury Tesco shop delivered as Mothers Day pressie - what to include?

Options
My Mum doesn't really do flowers so I thought about getting a Tesco shop delivered to her on Mothers Day. She lives on her own and lives pretty frugally normally so I thought it would be nice to include luxury things that she wouldn't normally get.

Any ideas for what sort of things to include? She doesn't drink alcohol or hot drinks so posh teas and wine are out! I won't be able to see her on the day so thought maybe a Tesco finest meal deal thingy so she can have a nice dinner and the only other thing I could think of was chocolate! :D

    Nice cuts of meat maybe?
    Bath stuff?

Thanks, I very rarely eat meat though so no clue what to buy - what would you say are 'nice cuts'? She likes all meats...

What about some luxury biscuits and some jams, preserves and chutneys that will last a while (the jams, not the biccies)
  • Maybe higher 'levels' of what she would usually buy, too. I.e. if she buys red lentils buy her Puy! Posh squash/ Schloer. And do they sell houseplants? Could get the Mothering Sunday flowers in in a sneaky way.
They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.
  • How about bottles of Bottle Green Elderflower cordial, or the sparkling variety?

In addition to the Finest Meal and a luxury dessert, you could include a Luxury box of Shortbread, or favourite biscuit assortment. Indeed a nice box of chocs, Green and Blacks, or Lilly O'Brien are always good.

Some nice luxury fruits. Blueberries, Raspberries, Grapes (miss strawberries at this time of year, never ripe enough)

You could include a nice bottle of bubble bath.

    What a lovely idea!

I would probably go for cheeses, and what about their artisan breads, can you get them delivered?

If you think christmas hamper type - then it would be chocolates, fancy jam, special biscuits, fancy cake, cheese. Does she have any favourite foods? For example thick cut marmalade, brie, caviar!?( not sure if Tesco sells caviar and I wouldn't want to eat all 3 together!)

    Such a lovely idea!

I agree re. the bottlegreen cordials, they are lovely and nice with some fizzy water.

Tesco do delicious La Brea bread (the sourdough rolls are yummy), what about some Covent Garden soup to go with it.

It depends what she likes but maybe some salmon fillets, some prawns, posh salad, new potatoes and some nice things to put in the cupboard like salad dressings, jams, chutney.

Lovely idea, it'd really fuss me up if I was your mum :)

Keep an eye on Best Before Dates. I know it's not possible in the literal sense, but in the way that if you get various similar fresh stuff in she may not be able to eat it on her own (if that's how it is) before they run out.
