    Hi wantmemoney,

One of our team would need to add the premium rate SMS bar on to your account for you. We would be more than happy to do this for you and you can contact us via – Web Relations Team including the code WRT135 in the subject line. Once we receive your email, we will get back to you within a short time to let you know that the bar has been added to your account.

As we have had this bar available to customers for a while, I’m unsure why you would have come across people within the business that don’t know about it, however we will be more than happy to give you more information about this service if you wish. :)

    Thanks,

How could you have quoted the above with a straight face?

You only have to read the posts on this forum alone, MSE, to realise that the shortcode bar is one of Vodafone best kept secret. Have you read how many people have received unsolicited reverse bill texts and were unaware that they could have protected their account by adding this 'service' ? We are not talking about 'people within the business', we are talking about your customers (which includes me) who have had funds STOLEN from their accounts!

From my own experience I have found that by doing a search on the VF web site there are no results for both short code bar or premuim rate text bar. I was even told by your customer service department when I attempted to add this service to my sons new PAYT account that it was not available, so I find your coments laughable. :rotfl:

You are correct when you say that the service has been available for a while, I think it will be 3 or 4 years this September yet why do VF keep it a secret? T-Mobile make the bar a clear option on the customers online account, why do VF not do this? Could it be the admin charges of up to 50% earned on the unsolicited reverse bill texts I ask myself? VF would not be so money grabbing or would they? :o

    Are we not?
    (and your staff)
And the 'staff' was in bold unlike 'customers'.

Intasun, you are being most unfair to the Vodafone rep. Clearly, from their reply, it is Vodafone customers who are negligent in not knowing about the service. And obviously you have not looked into Voda t&c and services thoroughly enough to see this publicised service.

And to prove I am right, I am 100% sure that the Vodafone Rep will reply within a couple of hours to point out exactly where on their web site this valuable information is shown. It would be unthinkable that they wouldn't respond and bring to our attention exactly where we should have looked.

So keep watching for their reply and shame on you !! ;);)

I take it that your are being sarcastic.

Out of interest I have checked and found nothing.
If you search their 'Support' section for 'premium' the best you can find:
How do I stop getting premium rate text messages? - Help - Vodafone

Simply rolleyes.gif send a text reply to the text service with the word STOP. If you are getting more than one type of text alert, sending STOP ALL will cancel all services from that sender.
    Isn't this funny?

Having said that, I am not with Vodafone. Luckily.

As I said above, pretty often sarcasm becomes a double edged sward at these forums.
They used to have a helpful rolleyes.gif smiley to make it more obvious, but removed it for some stupid reason.

Guys Dad, feel free to copy&paste it to your future sarcastic posts.
