Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Tuesday 22nd. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the
Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
Hubby's been dropped at the station with his packup, breakfast eaten, veggies have been uncovered, fish fed etc. etc.
I hope hubby has a better day today, yesterday some idiot defecated in the lift & he had to clean it up! Makes my work problems look small in comparison.
The garden is coming along a treat & we have loads of plants poking up through the soil.
Gammon egg & chips for tea tonight.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester and all to follow.

Looks like another good day here, wm will be on in a while, think I will wash the throw from my bed.

Yesterday was glorious, I spent most of it in the garden, planted loads of veggie seeds, inc, french beans, peas, beetroot, tomatoes, onions, leeks, chills, peppers, and a few more, need to get some runner seeds, will do that at the weekend, I am a bit late, but it will hopefully be ok. I also had a good tidy up, will do some more today.

Topsy, I meant to say the other day, what a hard decission for you to make, my first reaction would be to help him, but you have to think of your dh and son, (what do they think ? ) also if you dont help it will affect your relationship with your elder son who may resent you for not helping.
Its really a difficult one, but I am not sure I could stop myself from helping xx

Dinner tonight is pork chops, cabbage, brocoli and peas, need to get some spuds this morning, and some yogurts.

    Have good days all xx

Good morning Hester and all to foloow,

How absolutely disgusting, your poor DH. I suppose they were off their head with some substances or other :(

Grey and cloudy but warm this morning here. Washing about to go on the line and will hopefully dry. Not much wind though.

Lunch yesterday was soup with hm bread using gravy and stock from Sunday and veggies from Saturday. It was delish. Lunch today will be cauliflower cheese using lo veg from Sunday and cheese sauce from Sunday. Dinner will be take-away pizza for the lads and for the adults will either get something out from the freezer or make home-made pizza.

Not got paid work today, so must blitz the kitchen and bathroom ;)

Halight I read about twin one's accident. Hope she's not too bruised today x

Hugs to all who need or want,
    Happy Tuesday, Silver x

Morning all - another gorgeous day here - which is just as well as I have washing to put out. Got electricity and gas bill last night £450:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: since beginning of January :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

So have turned down the heating and reduced the amount of time it is on, am really aware of the lights etc being used, have turned off microwave, radio and other small appliances which have an lcd clock but aren't used all the time. The kind man on the end of the phone is sending me a piece of kit which will enable me to measure how much electricity is being used.

On a plus side, neighbour came round last night with the bill for installing the woodburner and the wood floor. I've been asking him for this bill for about a month! So I can get that paid today - weight off my mind. Have ironing to do today and as the house looks a mess I will be blitzing half of it today so that I can go to the parents evening with a clear conscience!!!

Not sure what tea will be tonight - something out of the freezer I think - maybe bolognese - see what I pull out. Lots of love - fantastic spring weather -anyone know if this is SPRING now???
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Morning everyone - sun is out, sky is blue and wind is chilly! I love early spring mornings.

Many thanks to everyone for the good wishes and 'well dones' yesterday, I still a bit :j:j:j:j:j though will try to be more restrained today!

Some shopping was done yesterday and the fridge is bursting with vegetables so now the freezer needs raided for the rest of the week.

I've read the papers, online, checked my daily horoscope, online and rubbish and now ready to face the real world. Office day today and need to clear out stuff - I imagine a long day at the shredder coming up!

Happy Tuesday to everyone, hope all goes well.

    Morning Gang,

Grey, drab, cloudy and cloudy here :(

WM on, need to fold and sort the stuff off the airers and start filling them again. Hoping by the end of the day the washing basket will be just about empty.

Dad is taking the eldest to school this morning and DC3 to nursery at lunch time and picking them up at the end of the day. So that is going to save me about 3 hours on school runs today :T.

As soon as the biguns have gone then I will sort the DW and give the kitchen a tidy but won't be doing much until littleun has gone to nursery.

Grey here again I just hope it brightens up like yesterday.
DS had saved all his EMA and bought himself a new computer at the weekend and is already washed, dressed and doing some work on it.

No washing to do here today so I think that I will strip the beds and get all of it on the line.

Dinner tonight is hm mushroom soup with hm granary bread followed with rhubarb crumble and custard.
Have to get back to soup and pudding nights because of all the bills. I feel your pain esmf, the energy companies are milking us for all it's worth.:(

Well best go get my brekkie
    Have good days all x

    Morning all

Light cloud covering but looks like sun will break through at some point. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock. Slept solidly again last night although I didn't go to bed until late, feel better this morning, need to get back to the running though, so hoping to be back to it tomorrow.

Dinner last night was smoked sausage pasta with creme fraiche - absolutely delish and we haven't had it for ages so very much enjoyed. Tonight will be quick tea as DS1 has Cadets.

Have 1st proper therapy session tomorrow afternoon am very much looking forward to it, need to address these problems instead of suffering in silence.

Will need to remember to get the meat out of the freezer for tomorrow night's dinner when I get in from work tonight.

Work was heavy going again yesterday, we're just so busy at the moment, it's to be expected I suppose.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Good Morning Everyone

    Hester that's

Lovely and mild here at the moment and the weather forcast is good :j

Am in the office mainly but may have to take OH's pickup to the garage if he doesn't get up in time :o

Just about to route around the freezer for something for dinner tonight, still trying to get the freezers down. Have good old fry up for dinner last night - have loads of bacon that needed to be used. If I find some chicken breasts in the freezer will have chicken and bacon tonight.

Thank you again for all the Birthday wishes. I did have a lovely weekend. Got some Amazon vouchers for my birthday and put them towards a new saucepan set and slow cooker that should arrive today, gone are the days where I hated getting house things for birthday pressies :rotfl:

Hope you all have good days.x

    Morning my lovelies :D

Anyone else find it really hot last night? We normally have window on the night catch to let in some air but had to open the window properly last night. Guess who then promptly escaped from our upstairs bedroom window?! Cat still hasn't turned up, think we are going to have to invest in a cat flap as she's clearly a cat that wants to go out at night and do some hunting.

Plans for today are to clean kitchen and bathroom. got one load in WM. Sun is trying to shine so that should be able to go out on the line. need to make a another loaf and freeze.
Need to sweep the patio as kids have chucked sand from sandpit all over it, need to give the outdoor toys a good clean too.

<sigh> I need more hours in the day. Was on my feet all day yesterday, felt shattered! Feel it's going to be a similar day again

Not sure about tea, need to consult my planner for inspiration.

Hester - your poor H

Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.
