Somebody please post a screengrab of the Xbox deal. I'm sure it said that the £49.95 price ended Dec 24...am not talking about the games bundle.
  • My local store honoured print out of order made at 11.55 last night, some store managers are flexible others went to Nazi training school!

Hope anyone with a reservation is as lucky as I was.

Also see this page on HotUK Deals reference Saturdays Newspaper Ad!

Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky. I went earlier today, and the manager wouldn't budge...so I left with nothing.

Would anybody happen to have a copy of saturday's ad stating that the offer ends thursday? If so that would be most appreciated.

    Regards

Luckily the store manager where i reserved the Xbox didnt even say anything to me about honouring the offer price and keyed it into the till! I was even prepared for quite a heated discussion! Thing is tho, after 2 minutes of playing on my lovely new xbox, it died! Game froze, box started flashing, now it doesnt do much other than flash at me! rudeness...

Here's a copy of the daily star Argos advertisement on saturday (courtesy hotukdeals):

    xboxargos4998005ih7.th.jpg

    Says clearly OFFER ENDS THURSDAY

Does this mean that those who tried to pick it up on Thursday but were asked to pay the full £89.99 price are eligible to get it at the £49.98 price?

I don't know much about statutory rights or misleading advertisements, so does anybody know where we can go from here?

    Regards.

    Ok lets work this out...

The 2 offers for the XBOX were

Buy Xbox console (567/1867) and 4 games pack (568/0858) for £49.98.To receive this offer add both items to trolley. Can not be used in conjunction with any other Xbox 360 offer. Offer ends 29th November 2006.
(this one ended...note the price is included)

    and

Buy the Xbox console (567/1867) and get Forza/Halo 2/Project Gotham Racing 2/Fable (568/0858) free. To receive this offer please add items to trolley. Offer ends 24th December 2006.
(this one doesnt mention a price so means its just the free games offer)

As for the newspaper advert.... This might not apply to internet reserve orders and I think they had the old "While stocks last" clause and the fact they seem to have got NEW stock in might be a get out clause
  • Hiya all, first post and Im probably being a silly newbie but when I click on the links its taking me to the item for £89 ?:o
  • "Ends Thursday" is rather ambiguous. For example it could mean ends at 0:00 hours on Thursday. I would say that, legally, they're in the clear.
