    Hi everyone!
All well here in Aril land today. The small person had a fantastic time at his Tudor banquet yesterday. The hall was laid out with banqueting tables strewn with herbs and a top table resplendent with a candlelarbra. They all had to address each other as lord or lady and the boys had to ask the girls to dance and the girls [or gals as he calls them] weren't allowed to refuse!!!:rotfl: :rotfl: I think he was more enamoured of the eating than the dancing somehow. We took a couple of photos and he does look quite cute!!
OS today has been stripping beds and changing towels. Also put a dark load through so that should be all the washing done for the week. Shall be leaving work early today as OH is on a first aid course so I need to do the school run. That will be weird as I haven't done it in the pm since I went full time. It also means I shall be cooking tea for a change- it's Pasta Milanese which is basically a bolognaise sauce but you add some sugar and white wine to it along with a red pepper and turkey ham. It does taste different. My thrilling day off is to be rounded off with a trip to MR T.
I gave one of the students here the recipe for Weetabix cake..she's already made it and loves. She's given me a recipe for mincemeat muffins so shall look forward to trying those.
Off to OH's family tomorrow. The pork goulash he cooked in the SC for the trip smelt lovely this morning.
    Have a fabby Friday folks

    Hello All!!!

Feel like i've been away ages, hope all are well, will try and catch up later. Works is manic and DH is trying to fix all singing all dancing computer at home (we've only been using the spare for the last year, the new one made a lovely lamp table for my reading corner in the dining room!!!) so have been very out of touch.

All well in MimiF household, DH is poorly, hasn't been right for some time with continous sore throats etc. He's under strict orders to rest all day today, if he hasn't improved by next week we'll try the docs again.

OS wise, a quick tidy up when I get home, sweep floors, put WM on. Then spag bol for dinner and a bottle of vino for IMAC.

Weekend, ballet and shopping tomorrow although apparently 70 mph gales are expected!

    Have a lovely day all!!!

Afraid I am still very much under the weather, not feeling at all well, was hoping to be up and about again by now..........I stopped taking the medication on Monday, so would have thought I should have been starting to feel a little better now, no such luck. If I have not vastly improved by Monday I will have to try and get to the Doctors.

    Afternoon all!

Not much to report here at the moment, ive just been relaxing and sewing. The sofa covers will be finished today though - they are nearly done and look rather good if I do say so myself.

    Todays plans are:

    Finish sofa covers

    Dust and hoover entire house,

    Clean kitchen

    Wipe Bathroom

    Change bedsheets

    Laundry

Im going to have takeaway for dinner and I am going to enjoy watching CSI etc on TV. I might even let myself play sims 2 pets - i was determined not to open it until ive finshed the sofa covers!

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

On today's agenda is tracking down a bow and arrow set for ds1's Christmas present. He is desperate for one (he's 11). I've bought him a proper bow from a sports shop that is suitable for his size. Only thing is it isn't a toy and has metal tipped arrows and a warning on the packet about 'fatal injury'

thriftlady: your son could start learning archery at a local club. I did, when i was about 12, and i was by no means the youngest there. even the one from the sports shop would be okay to use there, but most good archery clubs will have fibreglass bows that the children can use while they learn, to save spending money on expensive equipment (until they're 100% sure that they want to do it, and that they have the right weight - there are different strengths of bows, different weights needed to pull the bow, and getting it wrong can cause probems), but they can also advise on good equipment to buy once he has learned, plus they may know of second hand equipment.

I'm not sure where you are, but a look at this site will give you an overview on target archery in the UK, they have a "junior" section, and this page will help you to find your local club.

its a fantastic sport; when taught properly and with recognition for safety, it provides exercise (with the amount of walking you do up and down the field!), promotes maths (from adding up the scores!), assists in hand/eye co-ordination and provides a real sense of acheivement - its something i'd love to go back to if i had the money. Maybe one day i will.

If i can help with anything further, feel free to pm me!

plans for me for today: trip to the post office to post some parcels to ebay customers, pop to butchers to order christmas meat, go to aldi to pick up a few bits n pieces, then home, make bread, yummy scrummy christmas slices and maybe lemon crunch, maybe start another xmas pudding... lots to do!!

hope everyone has a good day!

OOOOOOooooooooh my poor feet! That will teach me to take the parents shopping wearing new boots.

Still I did manage to get a whole side of smoked salmon in Lidl for £5.99 and a beautiful Poinsettia in Tesco for £1.99. I'm still tempted to go back to Lidl for a duck and a goose. I don't know when we'd eat them but I really want them.
