OS Friday 24th Nov 06

Morning everyone

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for xx (add date). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Thought I'd get the thread off to a start as I'm up already. My plans for doing a good general catch up on housework last night were rudely abandoned - I was so tired I could barely keep my eyes open, and went to bed at 8.30 pm! That was about four to five hours earlier than normal, and amazingly I did actually sleep all night except for a visit for a tinkle.

Today is a normal w*r* day....unlike Nelski and TickleMouse my means of earning money is still a necessary evil even though it is a vast improvement on my previous career - so I will continue to employ those astrisks.

I broke into one of my Christmas cakes last night....it tastes quite nice, but is perhaps a bit dry and not quite as fruit rich as I'd have liked. I'm not sure what to do about the dryness....would feeding it in yet more brandy solve the problem? It already has quite a strong taste of alcohol, which I don't want to be too overpowering. I can't believe it's only a month until Christmas Eve - where does the time go???

My life is still v.uneventful....but in a good way...

Have a fantastic Friday everyone

Morning all early risers and those who follow

At work yet again. Why is it I always seem to be at work?

Feeling better this morning, I think I was feeling poorly as the day before I'd hardly eaten

Final Christmas presents are being ordered today:j then just wait for them to arrive, wrap them and I'll be done:T

Got another free lunch tomorrow, as I've been invited to the rugby club again. So I get a feed and then watch the game - one aspect of my job I like:rotfl:

Hope everyone's feeling ok, I'm ready for bed already!!

  • Morning to all!

Lovely night sleep again - even if it only lasted until 4.30. Was quite nice to have some peaceful time on pc before the gang wake up.
DH is off work today so he's taking me and DS2 off shopping later. Got some vouchers to spend. :D

Made HM apple turnovers last night. Shouldn't have eaten any as I'm trying to cut back but they were just so lovely. Never made them before but were a no-brainer with bought puff pastry (on BOGOF naturally). :)

So plans today, shine my sink (been reading fly-lady challenge), make beds, tidy kitchen, WM on, BM on and nip to mum's and check all fine there. Then off to hit the shops. :D

    Have a fun Friday.

    morning everyone,,

AMIE how do you manage to get 2 birthday presents and 4 lots of christmas presents sorted all so close to christmas.. i struggle with one as her birthday just after the new year.. only good thing there is that i can grab some stuff in the sales..

woke up a little bit earlier than normal that time of the month and feeling rough with it ..

got dd's first parents consultation today her first at secondary school, its unusual as its during the day, the kids dont have to go into school but they have to come with you in full school uniform to the meeting, we have ours at 11.15, I know she has settled well, and is coping with subjects she never knew existed untill recently as we had a letter home showing us how she is progressing so im not to worried about anything with her school, just be nice to see how the teachers perserve her in general ..

have a nice day one and all

    rose xx

Morning all, had a terrible night with lo last night, was up every hour! then he wakes at 5am:eek:

Dh's birthday today, so he has requested a takeaway curry tonight as a treat, have to get shopping too, ds2 back to dr with the results of his peakflow meter so will see what happens next.

His teacher said last night that he is getting on great at school and his confidence is so much better this year, was amazed as other years they have said he was struggling a lot, was taken a back a bit! so chuffed he is doing well, have said i will get him a treat today for doing so well.

    Hugs to all
