Good morning all!
It looks like quite a nice day here (of course, looks can be deceptive) but I will hang the washing out anyway. D/w needs unloading, & DS needs unloading from his bed!
Today he needs to get his English assignment done... how many days has that been on the agenda????? Then this afternoon he has a computer lesson with my sister. I expect that when I mention the English, he will suddenly have a fit of conscience & remember some homework she has set or something like that, or develop a desparate urge to do some piano practice (his concert is tomorrow evening) So if anyone would like to give him a not-so-gentle nudge towards his English work, please be my guest!!!!
Right, off now to start on my list of jobs, also I want to get my paid job done today, too. I will probably do that over the lunchtime period, so that it minimises the amount of working time that I am not about to administer nudges to DS to get on with his work!
Have a good day, everyone!0 -
Morning everyone :hello:
Busy day for me (busy by my standards anyway!), got a mystery shop this morning, then meeting my mum for lunch :j It's a while since we got together so I'm looking forward to that.
I've got shopping coming today so need to plan what food's going where and what I can prepare at the weekend.
Also do the other half of the dining room (as that's where I put all the mess from the first half :rotfl: )
Yet more washing.
Make flapjacks and a chocolate cake if I have time.
I could just go back to bed instead
Hope everyone's day is getting off to a good start

Morning everyone:wave:
On today's agenda is tracking down a bow and arrow set for ds1's Christmas present. He is desperate for one (he's 11). I've bought him a proper bow from a sports shop that is suitable for his size. Only thing is it isn't a toy and has metal tipped arrows and a warning on the packet about 'fatal injury' OH suggested we get some toy arrows with rubber suckers so that he can use it unsupervised, and save the metal tipped arrows for when we can supervise him. Only thing is our garden is just tiny so no good for archery practice. We have a playing field behind our house, but it's surrounded by public paths and always full of small children, dogs, etc. I'm just not happy about him using it even with safe arrows as I think it will be too powerful. So back it goes.
Maybe he will enjoy an arhery club when he's a bit older. In the meantime I'm off to a local English Heritage property where they have in their gift shop some lovely looking wooden toy bows and crossbows. He's seen them and likes them, they're not cheap plastic rubbish so I think they will fit the bill and put our minds at rest.
Sorry to ramble on:o
Hope everyone has a good day.0 -

Hello everybody,
Had an awful night with DGS too Kyle, he woke up about 100 times before finally awakening around 5.30am. DH gave up around midnight and finished off his sleep on the couch. When I picked him up from daycare this arv he threw the biggest tantrum
on the ferry
and screamed the place down for a good 15 mins. Nothing would calm him. Everyone was looking at me.
Well that's what it felt like.
Picked out my floor coverings today. They are getting laid on the 15th Dec (3 weeks time). Lots of work to do until then. Our tickets arrived today. :jI actually thought about Xmas today and picked up 2 small gifts for DD that I saw.
Happy Birthday's to the birthday people.
Amanda666 Our second day of cricket we did very well too. Hee Hee
The Barmy Army are whining already.
Think I will have an early night tonight. I have a big day at the house tomorrow. I'm cleaning up the yard & inside and doing a few trips to the dump. It's forecast for a hot day. Hope you all have a nice day. Byeee
Nearly forgot. Good luck on the move Bgn Rzl.Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.

Morning all
DD2 is well on the mend now - she asked for food yesterday afternoon and managed to keep a bit of toast down - she then slept for 14 hours - bless. DD1 got delivered home by the Headmaster at lunch time yesterday with tummy cramps and spent the rest of the day looking white as a sheet but thankfully so far she's not been sick. It's swept through the school so fast, the head said they only had 62% attendance....sometimes I think it would be best just to close schools when they get a bug like this and stop it spreading quite so fast and far.
DH went to pick up our new dining table and chairs yesterday, when he got there it was in the sale so he bought the matching tv cabinet with the extra money (can't fault his logic - shame he didn't take into account that he had to travel 65 miles to get it as our local shop hadn't reserved us one  ) Decorating starts on Monday and laminate flooring gets laid on Wednesday - the landlord has employed my dad to do the works so I know I'll get a great finish as he's such a perfectionist. Will post some pictures when it's all done....can't wait.
OS wise today - I need to make a complete freezer and cupboard inventory, start making my christmas non perishables shopping list and find something suitable for dinner.....
BM needs to go on as I've just used the last of the bread and WM needs to go on again - surprise surprise.
Hope you all have a great day.... Moggins - Lovely to see you back!"Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0
