end contract ,go payg
hi,
im struggling to pay my contract. i know its not the right thing to do but iam having to stop paying it . i may be adding it to my debt relief order or may be able to catch up with it and continue paying it in may.
if i put a payg sim in my phone ,would vodafone block the phone so i couldnt use it. vodafone wont lower my tarriff as its an iphone.
thankyou

Do you know if the handset is unlocked to all networks?0

If you cannot pay the contract sell the phone. Use the money to buy a new cheap phone for a few pounds and to pay for the contract. Very obvious and the only right decision for any person in your position.0

its not unlockedbsc 347:j0

Then unlock it and sell it as such.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

In theory they shouldn't block the phone as it doesn't form part of the airtime agreement. I hope they IMEI block it though so you can't use it at all, frankly.
A viable solution has been posted, sell it and use the proceeds to pay off the contract and get a cheap PAYG offering that you can afford.bsc 347:j0 -
i thought of selling but no one wants it. dont worry i shant ask on here again!bsc 347:j0

Nobody wants an iPhone..... You ARE joking aren't you.
What has been suggested above is probably the most likely solution. If you approach Vodafone, they will only offer you the chance to pay off your contract to get out of it. Additionally if you are on a Your Plan contract (which most are - indicated by YPL on the tariff description on your bill) you are NOT allowed to reduce your tariff, regardless of what phone offer you took up.
The easiest way to raise the funds for your contract buy out is to sell your iPhone. There are many online mobile "recyclers" who will pay you for your phone, eBay will always generate a buyer for an iPhone at the moment - all this baring in mind it works and you have not scratched or otherwise damaged it too much.
It all depends on whats left of your contract and the generation of iPhone you have though as to whether the costs will fully offset each other.Signaller, author, father, carer.0
