Rent payment for university students living at home

If you read my post properly, i'm not saying I'm not going to get a job.
I finish my course 25th June.
They will expect me to pay £60 a week from the 27th June.
If you can find me a full time job in 2 days, be my guest. It's unlikely.
Surely you can start searching for a job now, so you can start work as soon as you finish college.
You are at a distinct advantage to all those at your university who do not live locally. Once the final year students leave their jobs you will be available to start work, whereas others will not even arrive until September.
Good luck in your job search!Gone ... or have I?0 -
This thread wasn't about the summer, it was simply an example.
I'm talking about when i'm at university.0 -
A few things. Can your mum please check when her child benefit ends? Because that may be as late as September.
Although you cannot get your CT letter or grants until you regsiter, they are expected to cover you from September 1.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Child benefit ended in January this year.0

And please use the turn2us web-site, as the HB calculation may not even be right. If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

After reading through the website, it's clear they are asking for a ridiculous amount.0

And please use the turn2us web-site, as the HB calculation may not even be right.
I second this - put your mother's details into the Turn2us online benefit calculator.
Check the local council website to see if they list non-dependent deductions for housing benefit.
There are a whole raft of housing benefit changes coming through over the next year or two, none of which requires someone who receives housing benefit to experience a loss of £60 per week if their adult child has a low or no income.
Those tables make it clear that there are no deductions for full time students during term time or where the non-dependents receive JSA.
This link is handy to check how the future changes to housing benefit could affect your mother.

Are there any other non-dependents in the household?0 -
Nope it's just me and my mum.
"Those tables make it clear that there are no deductions for full time students during term time"
so this means when i start university full time, they won't ask for rent?0
