Done a runner with Loan...Letting off steam!
Some of you may have read a couple of my previous posts on here regarding my ex doing a runner with a rather large sum of money which I signed as 2nd customer to, under pressure I hasten to add. Feeling rather rubbish today due to the stress this is causing me, just wondered if any of you have experienced a similar thing or know of someone who has, how they dealt with it etc. Nobody seems to want to take it seriously, something should be done to protect people like me but no one seems to care less. I risk to loose everything while a certain scum bag is sitting pretty laughing at me!!

Rock and hard place springs to mind here im afraid !
the options are quite limited you can either pay up the full amount and then proceed to track your ( low life ) ex down and issue court proceedings against him for half of the amount or appeal to the loan company on the basis of what has happened and see if they will accept you being reponsable for half the amount I think that is a long shot hear and you may be best to put it down to a very bad experiance and either seek a legal action against him or failing that a good beating from a few nasty people that would not get your money back granted but you would feel so much better0 -
Rubbish isn't it! I have instructed a solicitor but they don't seem to think I have a good case for undue influence, but I do, especially with all the evidence from police files from the 12 month relationship. This sad excuse for a man is a serial abuser of women, has a history of DV before I came along, but lied about it to me. I can't possibly chalk this up to experience out of principle, he has got away with too much so far he is not getting away with this too. I find it hard to understand why someone would want to leave a single Mum in this mess, seriously twisted. I've put a complaint forward via the financial ombudsmans too, will this help?0

I think you are pretty much screwed here and either have to hope that the loan company may help out, that is a very long shot but you could try it and actualy tracking him down and getting a small court claim, baring in mind the max is 5k from there but will be cheaper I think than a solicitor.
If I win on the euro millions on friday I will let you know and pay it for you,
I think he is a complete shyster and if it were me I rather pay a hit man than the solicitor0 -

What are the grounds of your complaint to the ombudsman?0 -

If the solicitor does not think that you have a strong case, surely you would be better to either accept their advice or find a solicitor who does think you have a case?Gone ... or have I?0 -

The only thing you can hope that the FOS may be able to get involved with is the fact that its a joint application and maybe as he stole all the money you could plead that being a joint application you feel you should only pay half of it back and let the loan company track him down for the other half.
I personaly dont think the FOS can do a great deal here though !0 -
Cheers Crazyguy... keep me posted with the Euromillions won't you :-)
ILW, my grounds for my complaint is simply that the loan company are not prepared to take my case seriously. They were just doing their job issuing the loan and chasing for the payments I'm well aware of that. But it shouldn't be so black and white, they should take the time to look into it more carefully as it's a very complex affair. The way I was treated by this man was disgusting, I don't want to post too much detail on here as you never know who is reading. He was on bail until late Jan due to his behaviour towards me but now he is off the hook this is his way of getting me back. Thoroughly nice chap!!0 -
