Hi there,
I didn't know about this board but did post something similar on the home phones board a couple of weeks ago.
I used to own a telecom company which I sold last year and now have a call recording company. They called our office and we recorded it. It's all detailed in the thread which is linked below.

Should turn this the other way around,
If Telstra are not interested in stopping this abuse I wonder how interested they would be if everyone here and other forums where this abuse has been highlighted, called Telstra on their freephone number on a set day to complain about them allowing this type of service to continue.
I'm sure this would make them sit-up and think especially if the media got wind of it tooBe ALERT - The world needs more LERTS0 -
I've just had a call from 0871 665 1795, when I picked up it just said 'Hello? Hello' and then cut off. When I rang back I was told the call would cost 10p a minute so I hung up.
Just another number for you to avoid when it comes up on screen!0 -
