How do you think he has turned out then?
I'm not following you? How who has who turned out? The child who damaged the OP's car? Maybe has no discipline and doesn't know right from wrong. Or he could have fantastic parents and just be acting up in front of his mates - I don't know!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Either way, hitting him is not the answer. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

The child who deliberately damaged the OP's car clearly hasn't been brought up properly....hence the rhetorical question.;)

He could have been brought up properly! I work in a large secondary school. We have a very naughty girl, she has gone off the rails, he Mum teaches at the school and her Dad is a Dentist. Her siblings are perfect children. She has had a very good upbringing! She is still a very naughty girl!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

In your opinion! I have never smaked either of my children, they are quite well behaved. I saw a Mum smack her son in Asda this evening, he was screaming, and laid flat on the floor, not moving. A quick slap on his legs shocked him and got him moving. I'm not talking full blown beatings here!:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

Of course he has....he goes around damaging cars.
But this isn't helping the OP.....
Yes we need to get back on track.
I just don't believe that saying he must have had a bad upbringing to behave like this. In my experience that just isn't true.:heart2: Newborn Thread Member :heart2:

I'm with you janninew, my child would get a smack too if they behaved like this. Never did me or my generation any harm! I have a son and I've smacked him once, he called his mum an "old cow!!" Most time his punishment's consists of taking his XBox of him, seems to have the desired effect!0

you cant go round hitting children these days.... they fight back
anyway you could ask the parents to pay other than that im not sure the court system would entertain suing a 13 year oldSealed pot challenger # 10

If he gets hit for calling someone a "cow," I dread to think what the escalation of punishment would be, for deliberately scratching a car. :eek:The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0
