    :D

I do still have all my shops on there with nice pretty highly collectable things in it, it's like picking at a scab, I know I am wasting my time but I just can't stop listing in the folorn hope that there must be a buyer one day. For once though I am pleased there weren't any buyers

I was in TK Maxx yesterday and saw an old school friend buying loads of running tops and shorts from the 'really reduced' section.

When I asked her why she was buying so much running gear (she doesn't run) she told me that she sells it for a decent profit on eBay. I wonder how many people buy stuff from TK Maxx and similar shops to sell for profit on eBay.

Not quite the same but I have noticed a few items in CEX which go for a good bit more on ebay.

I once bought a Basil Brush DVD on Amazon for about £3, watched it several times, then managed to sell it for £10+postage to someone in Aus. That's the biggest profit I've ever made, and it wasn't taxable because I genuinely bought it for myself on a nostalgia kick.

My buying ID now has a foxy motif in celebration of that one sale :).

Some of the postcards I brought home from Poland sell well at British prices, or at least they did. However, that sort of thing, while appealing as a hobby, did get very close to the point at which I was genuinely trading. I stopped selling a lot on eBay because keeping within the borders of good faith collecting and selling what you don't need from what you buy gets very wearing and now make sure that I only sell what I've genuinely bought for my own use. I can't afford to be caught out.

I'm researching Delcampe at the moment, as I still have quite a lot of cards bought up in bulk (I find it genuinely a good way to collect, part of the appeal of collecting for me is finding something surprising in a box of junk rather than browsing eBay for the specific piece you want - but I'd hazard a guess that doing that too much would raise several eyebrows at HMRC) I want to sell off, and wondering whether I could subsidise study through starting my own online selling, but I'd have to make enough to live on properly and I'm not sure that I'd have the time while doing a full-time degree.

I suppose I'll have to do what my cousin did and snag one of the profs as a hubby ;).

Not quite the same as buying at a car boot sale, but I bought some running shorts from TK Maxx. The shorts were only £3 so a real bargain. When I got home I realised that even with a mega diet the shorts were never going to fit me so I listed them on eBay. In the end they sold for £50
