I buy lots from car boot sales and charity shops to resell. Just remember though that it makes you a business and you do need to register with HMRC.
My only fear is that HMRC will audit my accounts one year and I'll have to explain why I cannot produce receipts for a percentage of my business stock bought like that.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. You know how some pictures in listings on eBay are really bad? They attract little to no interest because it's not clear what the item actually is! I've often taken the picture out to clean it up and got a fantastic item for 99p which I sell on.
My best resell from a terrible picture was a New with Tags silk devore coat for 99p in perfect condition, resold after some research for £75.
Another was a 30's style glamorous coat with a huge fur collar bought for £1.04, resold for £35.
I've had many other successes from these terrible pictures, although I've had a couple of duds too, but you're only risking 99p plus p&p.
I've always adored charity shops-it's amazing how often you can find things that have only been worn once or even unworn things with the tags still on. Better than chocolate!0 -

But I still get a thrill going into charity shops. It must be the thrill of the chase or a version of hunting-gathering!0 -
Many years ago I bought a decorative ink well from the White Star line for 20p. Sold it for over £20, shame I only ever managed that once!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
