  • When I first went to the gym, the trainer told me that you shouldn't have the treadmill completely flat a
s it's not a natural position for running (or something :o) and bad on your legs and feet. He advised to always have a slight incline of 1.0

Thanks Raph - but any idea what that means is real life? is that 1% or 1.0 on the treadmill you were on etc.....

There's loads of posts for me to catch up on later-but I thought I'd pop in before I cook supper.

Another interesting thing I discovered-a pack of pork chops weighing 690g at a cost of £4,only contains 400g of meat, the rest is fat and bone:(

Hear hear I have so much to read and catch up on  Those Chops sound expensive once you cut them down I would consider dropping a line to Mr T's customer service and see what they say ;)

Ok this morning I got my running gear on, kicked myself up the bottom as I had been sulking after Thursday's mistake and finally completed my C25K challenge :j:j:j

Put my treadmill back to normal which has an approx 5% incline on it at it's lowest setting, (on thursday it was at 7% so no wonder I suffered :rotfl:) So I did 30 mins non stop and completed the last 2 mins @ 5.6 mph so I was well happy when I finished :D
So next week on to running for 35 mins and keep on going for as long as I can think. Then I need to try and increase my running speed as I think I am a little slow :(

Anyway this afternoon I went out and celebrated by going for a cycle with my OH :D I am really surprised how my fitness has improved as it took me 23mins to go what in the past took me well over 1hr! And on the return leg it took even less :rotfl: So then OH treated me to a lovely cream tea that was so naughty but OMG it was devine :A
So I can say I am feeling really happy and pleased with myself now and I am looking forward to tuesday's run. Any suggestions to what music I can run too now ?

Fred - Can you add 11.48 miles to my total please :D
    Restarting C25K in 2014 - Week 8 - 1/3 completed

Need to loose 25lb / 3lb lost so far :(

    hey all newcomers and regulars.
well it has been exactly a week since my granddad passed away, and i have been up and down. for the first 3 days i hardly ate, and the past 2 days i have ate like a horse lol. Havent weighed myself since and im really dreading it. I really need to get my wii back and get properly into this, i am going to start again tomorrow have lots of fruit in which is a good start. Hopefully will feel ok to do a bit of exercise aswell, although yesterday morning my neck really started hurting and it still is now, but im not actually sure how i hurt it.
Glad everyone else is doing well and still working hard!

  • Missy: I really like the idea of keeping your body guessing with regards to exercise, I think I will employ that theory - thanks!

I have been keeping a little spread sheet for my walking and cycling this month - this week I have walked 21.83 miles, and I have cycled 50.41 miles (on my exercise bike, in my bedroom on level 5 of 8) - so I am quite pleased with that, although I don't think that I can keep it up, it is time consuming, and SORE! But not bad sore, really.

When I first got my exercise bike four weeks ago I could cycle 10 minutes at 25km per hour, then had to have a rest. I can now cycle for 45 minutes, 30 of which are done at 28-30km per hour, and the rest if warm up/cool down. I am really impressed with how quickly and how much my fitness has improved.

Tomorrow is weigh in day. I have done a lot of exercise, and my diet has been 95% 'good', but who knows what the scale will say tomorrow - I will be really disappointed if I haven't lost, or even if I've only lost a little. I want a big number. A Biggest Loser style number, preferably :rotfl:

Hope everyone else is doing well, and I am really enjoying being a part of this thread :)

Welcome to all the new people, there are so many i have lost track of names!!

Tights: I love how quickly the body can improve so quickly. I think i need to push myself more and break the mental "i cant go on barrier" But for me, the first 5-10 mins aer the absolute worst! Once i'm over that and i've been going awhile i get into a rythem and it doesnt feel so bad. I need to quicken up though, i go quite slowly!

Ii'll be back to the gym on tuesday after a nice 3 day break.

Thanks for the kind welcome :j

I will join in posting here but I suppose it makes sense to start the challenges at the beginning of the month?

That's really interesting about carbs Eric, I had no idea but now I come to think of it, i've been having less pasta/rice/bread with dinner than usual and am substituting with more veg and I haven't been craving more food quite as much as I used to. I still do a bit but I suppose its partly a bad habit too.

Looking at your signatures I am amazed at some of your losses - Eric Pisch and alliwantistosave are the ones I noticed so far but to all of you with a loss well done

1%, its to compensate for the slight assistance you get from the motorised belt, nothing to do with it being bad for your feet / muscles

in reality if you don't street run and are not looking to do timed competitions its an irrelevance. With treadmill work its best to monitor HR

It was 1.0 on the treadmill I was on, so no idea what it would be on a different machine, it was basically the first incline, so only very slight, not really noticeable, but the trainer said it helped so... :undecided

I used to be able to do about 45 mins on a treadmill, but now I run outside I can't do it!! I struggle to run 10 minutes! I think it's because I get bored.
I really enjoy running outside, it's totally different to the treadmill. Your body has to work harder as the ground is constantly changing, you get some nice views too. We're going to France again in a couple of months, can't wait to run those long beautiful roads :)

Intend to stick to 1200 cals a day when dieting.

That's a very low figure and I'd suggest you'd be better off sorting out your Diet with a big D rather than being on such a restrictive diet for a short period of time.
So far no ill effects from LipoBind

That's not surprising, considering the limited evidence on it says it does absolutely nothing.
  • Hmm, lost 3lbs this week - not quite the number I was hoping for, and I can't help but being a little disappointed :(

I really wanted at least 4lbs, but is was not to be. I am trying really hard not to be so disheartened, because ultimately 3lbs isn't bad and it's definitely in the right direction.

Anyway, that brings me to 21lbs (1.5 stone) lost over the last 7 weeks. Just wish it would come off a bit faster - if I was on the Biggest Loser I'd have lost 100lbs by now :rotfl:
