Pigpen, thanks for posting that - it does make me feel better too because on days like today (been typing all morning and want to take DS out to the park with his friend this afternoon) housework is the last thing on my mind - I WON'T be doing all my list today and I've taken the extras off for a start!

Scarlett's Mum, awww, try not to beat yourself up. Being a Mum is such a big job; you have a little one to look after and anything else will just have to fit in as and when. When DD and DS were little my house was a TIP, it really was, but when you're running around after the baby that's just the way it is. Just perhaps you could set a timer for, say, 15 mins and when the baby is sleeping you could do something if it really needs doing. It will get better, it really will, but it's very early days for you right now so try not to stress. Just take the time and enjoy your baby as they grow so quickly - my babies are now 8 and 4 - DS starting school in September :(; this time is so precious.

    Here's my list:

Friday ~ Childrens rooms and spare rooms
    Level Two

Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
Dusting.. all those shelves and flat fluffy surfaces!! Don’t forget the light shade!! - did DD's shade last week, so only have to do DS's
    Level Three
Drag all that junk out from under the bed and deal with it as required e.g. bin, put away, wash etc -
    Tidy the chests of clothes!

    Friday
    Vacuum right through
    Warfarin – 7mg
    Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting

To all those who ebay / amazon sending stuff out, on the 4th April the postage prices go up at the Post Office, just got a new rate card from the man behind the counter and the packet prices / parcel prices are going up IMO alarmingly!!

So be aware to adjust your post prices for anything finishing on / after the 4th April and for all new listings.

Thank you so much aj, sammiel, pigpen, happierdaystocome and mumof2 – you are all right I need to calm down. It means a lot to me that you replied.

Thanks pigpen for your list. It does help that other people don't do everything although I still think you fabulous keeping up with the washing all your kiddies produce!

Took baby for a walk for half an hour and she slept for about half an hour when we got back. I’ve n done the type of tidying where you shove all the mess in cupboards in living room, both bedrooms and the bathroom.
Have decided not to build on lists. If I don’t do something one day it doesn’t have to get added to the next days list.

    So today’s list will be:
    Hang out washing once finished
Put all paper work to be dealt with in a box or something out of the way in study
Tidy work surfaces in kitchen (just the surfaces the cupboards do not have to be tidy!)

I have a question for all you other mums. How do you manage to hoover. I can’t do it when Scarletts sleeping because I’m too frightened to wake her and then she never seems settled enough when she’s awake.

Yay to pigpen's sister - that must be such a hard job!

Mine havent been baby for years now but DD was a very demanding baby and hated to be put down, so I use to do stuff like the hoovering with her in one of those baby slings. With DS he would sleep through anything, so I did the hoovering whilst he slept as when he was awake all he wanted to do was feed.

It is when trying to defend someone you KNOW is guilty.

Mine is placed in her jumperoo or her chair or somewhere 'safe' where she cannot get into mischief or harm herself and I get on and do it.. if she screams she screams if she sits and plays all well and good.. The one good thing aout babies is.. they can scream until they vomit but they won't actually die from it.. so let her get on with it.. she might actually like sitting watching you busy yourself about her.. mine used to love it when I vacuumed their hair..

Friday already - how did that happen?

Managed Monday and Tuesday's lists but Wednesday and Thursday were just manic so no flying done. So I'm going to dedicate an hour each to Wed, Thur and Fri's lists right now.

Here goes with Wednesdays - back in an hour...

    Afternoon!

Hospital appt was a bit of a farce - I had to go to answer some questions - why couldn't they have just sent me a questionnaire? - anyway upshot is DH has got to start wearing a mask at night and he needs to lose some weight - as if I didn't know that - don't we all!

Car needs some welding doing so that's going back next Friday to have that done so not too bad.

Other than that 3rd load of washing's on the line and I'm going to my mum's for tea.
