Hi courgette - hope I can help a little

At 6 months your milk supply is well established and your breasts are very efficient at making milk and tailoring the amount you make for the amount your baby asks for. Milk supply will increase or decrease depending on demand over a 6 - 36 hour period (every woman is different) so this maybe why you were very full the first night and less so the second. If he increases feeds at night again your milk supply should increase again very quickly so that should be reassuring for you. Is there is anything in your history to make you feel your milk supply is particularly vulnerable?

No, no reason why I should suddenly dry up. I gave up feeding DS1 at this point though cos he got teeth and started biting and I chickened out :o

Lots of mums find it hard to express past the 6 month point - it doesn't really say anything about the milk that is available as babies are much more effective than pumps at getting the milk out.

Is there anything I can do to change this? I haven't left him so far but I can see a point coming where it would perhaps be nice to have a couple of hours without him (sorry Gherkin :p). I don't want to put him on bottles as like many other posters on here I really really CBA (I also like eating lots of cake!)

Has he been having solid foods for long? Sometimes they can get stuck into food very enthusiastically and that will replace milk intake, which at 6 months he should still be on mostly milk really. He may be teething - I've noticed poo changes and biting with both mine with teething - it can be quite common, as well as nappy rashes, red cheeks, dribbling etc etc Again its just a passing phase - although sometimes it feels like it goes on and on.

I started weaning at 17 weeks, so 10 weeks ago. He eats a fair bit now, a mixture of baby food and what we eat although most of that gets dropped on the floor

Lots of people offer water with meals once they have started introducing solids. The advice is to give it in a free-flow beaker or open cup - you might want to check the birth to five website, but I have always just given tap water in a beaker thats gone through the dishwasher - I don't sterilise the food or the bowl it goes in after all and both my babies were crawling at 6-7 months and my floors are never that clean (hence flylady following! - yay brought it back on topic:rotfl:)

I've bought him loads of different beakers but he just doesn't seem to know what to actually do with them. I ended up giving him it straight out of a plastic cup without the lid this morning and he did have a little bit

It sounds like your baby has very considerately chosen to sleep through a couple of nights and your supply has adjusted well to that - if babe decides to want to feed at night again (inevitable I'm afraid!)

He changed his mind again last night! Isn't it so so difficult getting up in the night again when you've had a little break

then you should be very easily be able to supply that milk again no probs. You might want to start offering water with meals and looking at what he is eating as it shouldn't be too high-fibre at this age. If in doubt give one of the helplines a call. Hope that helps:)

It helps loads. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to post :D

bathroom all sparkly - even scubbed the window frame inside - and out  at how high up I am - the whole window all turns in and I'm a jelly when faced with heights I *could* fall from (only one floor up but still  :rotfl:

going to take 5 then hit the kitchen - LOVE cleaning when it's like this - doors open, windows open - carp moved outside from kitchen (shoe rack) so floor can dry double-quick

    Afternoon all

Two loads of washing on the line, including the kitchen curtains which are going to be stored away when they're dry until we decide if we want them back up after the kitchen is done. It's drying well so I've just put the cats blankets in the machine (when they're done the machine will get put on a cleaning cycle).

Some more stuff emptied out of the larder and taken upstairs. The kitchen is looking empty but the back bedroom is looking full!

Catching up now, hope everyone's OK.

I forgot the main thing! I've done the bathroom and toilet and emptied all the indoor bins.

    Hello, Flyfriends.

First of all, lots of healing vibes to all those who are poorly – I seem to be seeing lots of mentions of tonsils, and temperatures spiking.

Toots I'm totally carp with words, so have a Wolfy (((HUG)))

Jojo glad the gig went well; mind you, I knew it would. I really do wish I could've heard you.
Courgette I'm no help re BF (never had kids) but will send “happy-baby” vibes. (Love the reference to “Gherkin” btw).:D

Jetbag ooh, I panicked a bit when I read that your poor woofer had a big bleed after her spaying op. Hope she's OK.

WarriorPrincess we have an acrylic shower screen, and I find vinegar to be excellent for dealing with the limescale; our water's scarily hard, so it has to be kept done, but I've found thisto be more effective that proprietary limescale removers (as well as a lot less expensive). Oh, and like Shellysue, I keep old pickled onion vinegar and use it for cleaning.:money: Mr LW goes through pickled onions like they were going out of fashion, so there's always a ready supply.:D

I've had a fun (NOT!!) morning; the loo was blocked, so that's my "clear a hotspot" task done, methinks. It was awful!:eek:_pale_ Not to go into any detail, but I'm glad I have a supply of the little plastic gloves that come with hair colouring kits. (I have a really good pair that I've been re-using every time I colour, so I keep the flimsy ones for yucky-mucky-dirty tasks). What gets me, is it was fine when I got up to use it at 3:30 this morning.... and there's only been one person use it since.... and that wasn't me!

Also, joy of joys, both my feet are now cracked and bleeding. I don't get it - this hasn't been this bad in ages. I had steroid cream for it some years back, I must have a root around and see if I still have any, I reckon.:( It's a real nuisance - just hobbling round the bungalow has become very slow and painful.

Oh, and my hay fever has kicked in. *rolleyes*

OK, I'm going to post my list then delete what's done from the Word.doc, so that I can easily see what I still have to do. I suspect the extras won't all get done, but hey ho, that's just tough.;)

Thursday ~ Study or other reception room & bathrooms

Hugs lamewolf. Could the change of season be affecting your skin. Kids all have dry skin here at the moment and my feet always start to crack once my socks come off.

Lunch eaten, more paperwork decluttered. Going to stick the kettle on and then sit the garden for HH sorting out all my gardening cuttings (paper ones) receipts etc.
