I feel like I got very little done yesterday because I didn't introduce the vacuum to any carpet, nor did the mop meet the bathroom or kitchen floor. However I have to look at what I DID manage to do:
I decluttered the sideboard and table top in the kitchen.
I even put a fresh table cloth on the table, set out the placemats and put the fruitbowl as a table centrepiece :D
I ran the duster over the walls and coving to pick up a few dusties
I set the WM going and hung the clean laundry to line dry.
I made a marmalade Madeira cake and a lemon Madeira cake (and kept the sink clean all day

Instead Piccolina and I spent most of the day outisde kicking a ball around, cheering when she slid down the big slide and doing silly mummy things!

I really MUST do HHI tonight else we'll be back to wearing winter clothes again:o love, hugs and spoons to all.

  • OK all you seasoned flypeople - how do you get the limescale marks off the glass door of the shower?

So far this morning I've given it 3 goings-over with Lime-Lite, which improved it a lot but still left it covered with a grey film of watermarks. Then I rubbed it with a half lemon that happened to be resting in the fridge awaiting de-cluttering after pancake day - the state of my fridge is a matter for another time! I'm not sure about this, but I think limescale is alkali & so might be disolved by acid - hence the lemon. Anyway that didn't really seem to work, but I might have taken it off too soon - so I've done it with the lemon again & I'm leaving it half an hour this time.

So how does anyone else do it? What products work?

I live in a really hard water area. Each week I spray the area with neat white vinegar and leave for about 30 minutes. Then I respray with my window cleaning spray (1/10 white vinegar, 9/10th water and a dash of w-up liquid) and clean with an eco glass cloth. It works well but you need to keep on top of it. HTH

Mainly pottering but getting a fair bit done. Time for a cuppa and a snack :p

  • Good Morning all

Hugs/spoons to all who need or want them and get well soon vibes to all who are sick or whos LO's are sick.

Late start her this morning as I couldnt sleep last night as after yesterday I was in too much pain.

Plan for today is ironing this morning and take DD1 to register at the library this afternoon - in an attempt to curb her Amazon habit.....

I have this problem her and when ever I have tried to suggest DD use the library, she insists that they dont do the books she likes and she also has a fetish for owning the books :(

WarriorPriness I dip kitchen role in white vinegar and paper it on shower screen and leave for a few hour before removing. This normally does the trick for me.

I think you did great - LOADS done in the house - including nasty dusting jobs that are often consigned to spring cleaning sessions or not done at all; you made the house look like a home (fruit bowl etc. on table ;) made gorgeous-sounding cakes AND did fun mummy things. Go you:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T

I have COMPLETELY stripped my bed and everything is washed/in the machine/on the line at present, washed my new towels too.

In the process of admin (10 mins); have made soup, talked to mum (apparently we have Cornish antecedents (love of clotted cream and Cornwall explained) and consolided the East End connection (love of London and jellied eels explained, possibly also the 'at home' feeling whenever I'm down there.)

    :hello:morning all

did a bit this morning, the house is looking reasonable, nice sun here so the patio door is open and the house is getting a bit of fresh air.

will do rest of bathroom at lunch break.

Warrior Princess, does your shower screen come off, mine sort of unhooks, I can then lay it flat and tip vinegar on it, tbh I use the cheap malt vinegar, and I have even been known to use the vinegar from the pickled onion jar, once the onions have been eaten:rotfl:Although I do keep wanting fish and chips while cleaning:rotfl:

Back in one piece - Pip got a lot of exercise but I didn't so won't do it that much! She's now asleep in her basket, bless.

Called my Mum so that's all today's jobs done. Going to get DS from pre-school shortly, have lunch and then we're out in the garden for the afternoon. I love being able to be a stay at home mum, although we're skint we're happy :).
