Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 20th March 2011. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good morning everyone,
Warmer here this morning so no thick frost. Grey and cloudy, hope it warms up later it is forecast to.
Dinner today is roast pork and all the trimmings. It is one of DD1s favourites (she has many:))
The garden is coming on apace. Potato beds dug over and planted:) Hoping to buy butternut squash seeds today.
Hugs for those who need or want.
Happy Sunday, Silver x

Morning everyone.
I ought to be doing thisas I got in from my night out at 2am. Instead DD decides this morning is the one she needs to get up at 5.30am <weeps> Feel really tired so once H is up and moving I am heading back to bedsville.
Not really doing much today because quite frankly i shall be to tiredGot someone coming to pick up something I sold in ebay later and that's about the sum total of the (not so) interesting things happening here today. Still not go any compost  I am waaaaaaay behind with growing everything. Must catch up next week, lets hope the weather holds for me.
Tea will probably be chicken or something.
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a great Sunday OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Early one here - been awake since 530am, no reason just awake.
Much cloudier today but hope it'll stay dry to do some gardening. Won't be loads though, legs are aching from a longish walk yesterday. Little doglet is hobbling a little too.
Hope everyone enjoys their Sunday

Morning all
Another one up stupidly early on a Sunday, but shouldn't complain cos at least I've had 2 nights of sleeping right through in a row now
It's a bit cloudy here today, but the sun is trying to poke through. Tide is in.
Plans for today - I'm hoping to try and get a massage appointment at the local spa, I've not booked though so they may not be able to fit me in so won't get my hopes up just yet. Will ring them as soon as they open. I'm going out tonight with the girls (well my gay friend Chris is coming too but we class him as one of the girls! :rotfl:) for food to the local posh-ish Chinese restaurant and a few drinks after (well not me, I'll be on the soda water). I've got my new dress and shoes all ready
OS wise - WM is on - hopefully they will dry outside if it stays dry, tidy, hoover and take recycling to tip if I go out to the spa. Didn't make cake yesterday so will try to make one later.
I'm off back to bed with cuppa and book.
Have a good sunday all

Morning all:j:j
Another one up early here, I woke up at 5.05am and could not get back off to sleep so at 5:30am i got up. Iv had the sky news channel on and been drinking coffee since.
Think ill have an afternoon nap later.
Chilly here this mroning. Yesterday it was very warm here. Got a bit more done in the garden and the twins had there first play out there this year. I got them planting seeds. They really enjoyed themselfs.
Not much planned fot today. The twins are off to sunday school then after to the MILs for the day.
I think if it warms up a bit, ill do a bit more in the garden.
Iv got punkins groing on the window sil, Toms seeds in the greenhouse , tom seeds on the window sil, Peas in the green house, Bord bean seeds in the garden. Ill be putting the french bean seeds down in about two weeks time in the green house. Im going to try and get three crops of the french bean this year. i got two last year but with a bit more planning and putting them down earlyer i would have got thre crops, My fruit cains (ras) are all in leaf bud. im thinking about buying a few (6-8) black current cains this year. The appel, plumb, pear trees and in leaf bud two. These are new trees they went in last year, They are the ones that have a number 5 root stack in them. This means that they only grow to a mox of 7ft tall and they do not grow outwards too much. This gives the tree more enagy to put into its fruit so you get bigger crops off smaller tress. They use these trees in the polly tunerls on farms and the crops end up in our supermekets. They have only been on slae as trees to the public in the last frw years.
I shall be putting more veg seed down over the next few weeks.
Got a beef joint for dinner today. Will be haveing it with the normal roast spuds and veg.
I hope that everyone is well,
Enjoy your sunday everyone:j:j:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -

Dull and overcast here but dry underfoot.
I think there must be something in the air with so many people not being able to sleep. I went to bed at 8.30pm as I was really tired, then woke up at 1.30am and couldn't get back to sleep so got up and have not been back to sleep since - may need an afternoon nap later.
We fell off the OS wagon a bit yesterday had a take-away for dinner last night as DH didn't fancy the paella that I had planned to make so we're having that today instead. I've put the piece of beef I had for today's lunch in the freezer for another day. I have to admit it was nice not to cook, as I haven't been as productive as usual on my days off this week, so spent yesterday catching up with jobs, did the remaining ironing, cleared the veg patch, dug it over and planted 2 rows of potatoes. Saw friends and family we needed to visit, so time was moving on, I also wanted to watch one of the races at Uttoxeter at 3pm then the Rugby later.
DS1 still in his pit will wake him shortly as he needs to eat and get his rugby kit ready, DS2 is and up and had his brekkie, his game has been cancelled so he will come with me and watch/cheer from the sidelines.
DH is going out to look at some new equipment for the caravan rallies we are involved with.
Have a good Sunday everyone.
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Morning All,
It cold here this morning and a bit damp, hoping it will brighten up later. Today I am off to Argos for a spike for my whirlie, homebase for something to put in my hanging baskets, and bargain bin diving, and then to visit MIL for a couple of hours. OH is home from work around two and we'll hopefully be home by then, too. About to stick some lentil soup on for the menfolk, and cauliflower soup and cauliflower cheese for me. I don't think I'll get much HGrowing done this year, we are still changing the garden about, but I want to get things in and established for next year if I can, some fruit canes and trees and I'll sort out my hers into a proper herb garden too.
Have a good day whatever comes your way.
Hugs spoons and hi fives.
