Horrendous travelodge experience. What to do?

I think some people need to pull their heads out their backsides before they reply to some posts. The very least I expect from a hotel is a clean room and a good nights sleep, the OP clearly got neither and people are telling him to man up and stop complaining? The loud group were asked to leave/quieten down and this didn't exactly happen, how is this 'excellent service' as someone put it? It's not even service, let alone 'excellent' service, it's a half arsed attempt to uphold a quiet environment for people to sleep in. It is a HOTEL after all.
I'm glad to hear the OP got things resolved.0 -
Yes, I am sure you are right.
If you ask questions on this forum, or indeed any forum on the internet, all you are doing is inviting opinions.
There is a chance that those opinions might be right.
The converse is also true.
If you don't expect to get contradicting replies, then my advice is do not post.
When you read the forum faq rules you would've seen...
Certain posts in here imo went beyond opinion based. They were just bloody ridiculous. Saying you should expect to be up all night at a travelodge is stupid. Saying get some drink down you and join in (as an answer to the what can i do about this situation) is beyond stupid.
I can accept opinions, whether they're the same as mine or not. It's nonsense statements i don't accept.
But anyway, it doesn't matter as the issue has been dealt with, i was just posting up the update.0 -
OP...Try escalating and/or complaining to Guy Parsons, Travelodge Chief Executive, via sending him an email to guy.parsons@travelodge.co.uk.
Good luck and hope this helps.Again, thank you for this post.
It seems that many within this thread don't really know what they're talking about. A few have been helpful & i've thanked them as such. Guy Parsons seemed to think that it wasn't acceptable either (unlike some of the members here) & has issued a refund for the whole stay, not just one night which i'm very happy with.
Just wanted to post back with the conclusion on the whole episode. So to all those who didn't waste their time with nonsense replies - again, thank you.
Glad to have helped and many congrats on getting a successful outcome !:):beer:0 -

i personally use premier inn more than travelodge, its just that bit more assurance for a little more money. we have used travelodges though but i would try and never use one at the weekend, infact i would not use any "discounter" chain at weekends unless you know it wont be full of rowdy people. i do think the receptionist did a good job for you though...she did get rid of the problem people. you should complain about the state of the room though but you should have done this at start of the night too.£18 for my old mobile.
new proper meal planning to cut spending.
£26 in coppers taken to bank.
£30 under grocery budget last 2 weeks.
£22.98 cashback quidco

These keeps coming back time & again - yes she turfed them out. I know this & never said that she didn't.
She could've refunded the girls however (they paid for the room, the guys didn't) & turfed them out also as they CONTINUED to be noisy.
My biggest gripe with the woman is that you could hear the noise from the reception area, so why wait until a complaint comes in before you do something?
If you see a house on fire, do you wait until someone shouts for help before you do something?
But anyway, it doesn't matter as it's sorted. It doesn't matter that some members here think the receptionist did well. The bigwigs at Travelodge have admitted i was given a poor service, which is good enough for me.0 -

Noise is a subjective thing. I was once in a house and the householders called the police for what I considered a very minor disturbance taking place next door.
You cannot expect travelodge to turf out paying guests in the middle of the night because someone complains about the noise.
I should imagine they would get taken to the cleaners by any half decent solicitor.0 -

Firstly....subjective yes but why are you shouting;) in your posting ?
Secondly here is a proper;) quote :These keeps coming back time & again - yes she turfed them out. I know this & never said that she didn't.
