Horrendous travelodge experience. What to do?

"the way this was handled by a travelodge employee."
You complained, and the boys were removed. Seems excellent service to me.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -
Unfortunately, Travelodges in the UK are the bottom of the pile and I wouldn't stay in one at a weekend (or ever) unless I was really desperate.
However, Travelodge are responsible for who they let in and for the maintenance of their properties, so I would expect a full refund.
Which one was it, out of interest?
Someone with an ounce of sense I see. Peop seem to miss the parts where I say I don't expect the Hilton as well as the part I say I was going to let other things pass.
I don't even expect a full refund. We had a decent stay on Friday, minus having no hot water.
It was the travelodge in Kilmarnock which I stayed in. Have been stopping here for about 6years now without issue. It's just a place to get the head down while visiting the in-laws.
Premier Inn is about 7mile down the road at the other end of town. We may be staying there next time instead.0 -

Instead of trying to be smart, read the rest of what I said regarding this.
You probably did & chose to ignore so you could get the !!!!!! reply up.0 -
Making personal remarks is hardly conducive to your case.
This is what you said happened.
The receptionist asked them to be quiet when they came in
They made a noise
You complained
The receptionist made them leave.
Nothing smart there. It's a statement of what you said happened. You claim that is "too little, too late". What do you think should have happened? One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

I would have asked the girl on the desk where to write to to complain, and remembered to ask her name. I guess she done the best she could, if they were really rowdy, maybe she was a bit frightened of these lads?
Maybe Travelodge should have a male receptionist on the desk on a Saturday night, less intimidating for a guy I guess. There's not a lot more that she could have done to be fair, but suggesting that they have more staff working on this night is helpful for them. If you feel strongly about this, then of course you should complain, no one on this thread except you was there, so you know best what exactly happened. Premier Inns look a lot better (and cleaner) than Travelodge, my husband stayed on one and told me never to go in there if I can help it, he said it was a bit grotty to be honest.
You are entitled to some sleep and as I stay in Premier Inn's a lot due to work, I do always have earplugs with me, it saves a lot of hassle.;)0 -
Just ignore the negative posts OP, presumably you will have complained by now but I would certainly follow it up with a complaint to
head office. How did you get on this morning anyway
We go to Newcastle Travelodge on the quayside often and have never had to put up with what you did.
Good luck.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

I don't expect a whole group of rowdy folk to be allowed in in the early hours if they've not paid for a room. I know it could easily happen with those that had paid for a room but it didn't.
But from you said the boys came back with the girls who presumably, given your earlier comments, had paid for the room. So are Travel Lodge also expected to be the moral police as well?
Just as an interesting side line, we stayed in a Holiday Inn a few years back (so hopefully should be considered at least one step up from Travel Lodge) and when came back to the room there was a guy sleeping in the corridor. Thinking he was so drunk he couldn't find his room and had thought $od it I'll sleep in the corridor, we rang down to reception and told them. Security comes up,wakes the guy and offers to take him to his room. Turns out the guy didn't have a room but thought a corridor in a Holiday Inn was warmer than a pavement. Needless to say he was quickly ejected.
When we went to breakfast it was obvious that most of the people staying were staying there becuase it was cheaper than getting a taxi homebut the way this was handled by a travelodge employee.
But she did what you expected her to do - remove the source of the trouble. What else could she have done? Rugby tackle them all to the floor and sit on them until the taxi come?2014 Target;

Oh give the OP a break -at 2.30 am and sleep deprived she's entitled to be more than miffed.
Just because you book a room for one or two people doesn't mean you are entitled to bring half the pub or nightclub back with you.
And if you do -you make dang sure they don't make noise.
As for what should happen-TL dealt with the issue as soon as they got a complaint -although arguably they could have being more pro-active.
I think an apology and a refund for the night you complained about is probably all you can expect as you didn't complain about the state of the room after the first night.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
