Horrendous travelodge experience. What to do?

Am at this moment in time at 2:05am trying to get some sleep but can't. I'll star from the beginning:
• ripped sheets
• ripped diver cover
• door frame split badly
• bathroom door put through & botched up repair
• looks like someone has machine gunned the curtains
• stains scattered over the ceiling with blotchy paint coverings
• loose faceplates for heater switches
I was willing to let all the above go as it's only the travelodge, not the Hilton
The signs were bad at 11:45 Sat night when we get in & 2 rooms down the corridor are wide open, girls in their underwear doing their makeup. Night out & loud returns I thought.
1:45am we're woken to the noise of these girls & now guys. A right racket. Shouting, laughing, swearing. Doors constantly opened & shut.
2am we have enough, put our bags in the car & go to reception to ask for a room switch.
They say they can't do it as they're fully booked. I'm not sure I believe this as it's not Manchester/London etc. It's a small town/city with a fair few rooms.
The receptionist knows why were asking as she said she told the guys to be quiet when they came in. She says she'll come and sort it - too little way too late I'm afraid.
In the end, I saw about 6 guys get turfed out with 1 lad remaining. We past a taxi as we put the bags in the car which I suspect was for them. Could hear the woman telling these lads they're not booked in so they have to leave.
I'm sorry, but at that time in the morning, that many young lads (I'm 27 myself) should not be allowed in with drink if they're not booked in. It's asking for trouble.
Then the girls start having an argument about who's booked into what room. F'ing & blinding down the corridor.
Not happy at all. Am totAlly wide awake now.
What to do? Complain, but to who? And as I get to this point in my post, there's knock knocking on the door again, more loud voices & no consideration for others yet again.
Oh & when I ask to who, I know it'll be within travelodge, but where's best to complain? Head office? Letter/email? Anyone have an address as I'm low on battery.
And if there's any weird spelling etc it's because this has been done on my iPhone so there'll be the autocorrects.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

your first port of call will be with the hotel tomorrow morning - either reception or management
then follow it up to head office when you get home if it the hotel didnt help
take photos on the iphone, obviously0 -
Thanks for your reply. Especially at this ungodly hour.
What do I do at reception, just outright ask for a refund? It'd be a bit false of me to bring up the bullet points at reception in the morning I would've thought as we spent Friday night here & I never said anything. I just thought oh well it's the travelodge. I may email them about it if I feel that way. I did take pics btw.
Tonight has just been the final straw though. There's nothing worse than being unable to sleep, especially through preventable noise.
Should I just outright ask for a refund? Or 'some sort of compensation'? I'm not generally the type of person who does this so I've no practice / forcefulness with it. It just got too far even for me tonight - as I usually let a lot slide before going through with complaining.0 -
Don't be such a girl. It's a Travelodge on a Sat night. Stuff like that is to be expected with them.
Get a few drinks down you and join the party or drink some more so you fall asleep.0 -

I am quite amazed I'm reading this post. It's obviously an urban location. People book travelodge rooms on a sat night because it's cheaper than a taxi.0 -
If reception said they had no other rooms, I would ask for a free late checkout (if your timings allow) so you can catch up on sleep. Maybe free breakfast too.
I personally have always had good experiences, but maybe because I have lived in rowdy places and always travel with ear plugs!0 -
I honestly can't believe the mindless follow up.
Get some drinks down me? What a stupid response.
I've been in travelodges for about 8years now. Yes you'll likely reply with "well I've been in them for 8years and 1month, so that makes me better". It's not a case of it's a travelodge so it's to be expected. All my other stays over 8years have been perfectly fine. Yes, sometimes a bit of noise as people get in late, but the noise is just them getting in, NOT a party going on until the early hours with no consideration for other people booked in.
Also I'm due to return home today & am up at 5in the morning tomorrow. Yes I should 'join in' and invite myself to someone elses party and be a zombie whilst driving at work & then perhaps drive into someone at work because I'm too tired to concentrate.
No!
It's basic respect of other people. If you weren't taught this then there's nothing I can do for you.
It shouldn't happen. As I say, I would've let all the other stuff go, but not bring allowed to sleep is too much!0 -
Am at this moment in time at 2:05am trying to get some sleep but can't. I'll star from the beginning:
• ripped sheets - to my mind you should have complained about this when discovered
• ripped diver cover - ditto
• door frame split badly - wouldn't bother me so long as door shut and was lockable
• bathroom door put through & botched up repair -wouldn't bother me
• looks like someone has machine gunned the curtains - are they servicable though?
• stains scattered over the ceiling with blotchy paint coverings - don't spend my time looking at ceilings so this wouldn't bother me.
• loose faceplates for heater switches - is this safe?

2am we have enough, put our bags in the car & go to reception to ask for a room switch. why put your bags in the car but then ask for a room change....surely the best thing to do would have been to just go to reception first?
They say they can't do it as they're fully booked. I'm not sure I believe this as it's not Manchester/London etc. It's a small town/city with a fair few rooms. Means nothing...I stayed at a travel lodge which was basically at a service station on a dual carriageway and it was fully booked due to it being used by a cocah load of guests at a wedding.
The receptionist knows why were asking as she said she told the guys to be quiet when they came in. She says she'll come and sort it - too little way too late I'm afraid. What else was she supposed to do?

tbh I think you need to chill a little - the manager did what she said she would do .....its not her fault that there are inconsiderate people around.2014 Target;

Your main issue seems to be with the inconsiderate people that stayed there not travel lodge. Perhaps you expect travel lodge to install consideration to its guests.2014 Target;

Unfortunately, Travelodges in the UK are the bottom of the pile and I wouldn't stay in one at a weekend (or ever) unless I was really desperate.
However, Travelodge are responsible for who they let in and for the maintenance of their properties, so I would expect a full refund.

It may just be words on a screen, but condescending tones can still be spotted. Hardly any need.
I don't need to answer your question, the answer is an obvious one due to one being possible & the other not.
I don't expect a whole group of rowdy folk to be allowed in in the early hours if they've not paid for a room. I know it could easily happen with those that had paid for a room but it didn't.
The room is also right next to reception. You can hear the noise so why not do something when you can hear it instead of sitting on the desk doing nothing until someone physically complains.
I did say that in my original post but there it is again. THAT is my issue. Not with the travelodge chain, no, but the way this was handled by a travelodge employee.0
