Thanks Getmore4less - you've been fantastic with all the great advice you've given.

It wouldn't be the first time HR have got it wrong. The only problem is I do have August as the termination date on my redundancy letter so might need to get this changed if HR will admit their mistake?!

Otherwise hope that the Job centre don't ask to see it!

    Cheers!

They may have decided to do garden leave but still pay out early but that is not PILON.

Thanks daisyf! I can't believe my final day in work has finally arrived!!!!!!!

I've actually got my leaving lunch now in an hour's time!....not looking forward to having to give the 'goodbye speech' in front of everyone. It's a little difficult to know what to say when you're not really choosing to leave and you've nothing to move on to?! But will let you know how it all goes.

Good luck for Friday daisyf - I hope the rest of the week flies by for you!

That's it then - all done and dusted! The leaving lunch went ok. My boss gave a short speech saying how sad he was that I was leaving, blah, blah, blah, (all very sincere - not!) and everyone was very sweet in wishing me well. I gave a very short speech saying that I had enjoyed working there for a long time, but things change, nothing stays the same and it was definitely the right time for me to move on. It was still very strange to be walking out for the last time......

Anyway, have been very productive since leaving. Have submitted my online application for JSA so should hopefully hear from them regarding my interview soon. Have been looking at my finances and balance transferring my CC debts so they are minimum payments and 0% for a good while. Got rid of the Virgin TV, phone & broadband. Have gone with Plusnet just for broadband instead. Have opened an ISA to put most of my redundancy money away safe and will look into a good saving account for the rest. I've been sorting out a load of stuff for a car boot sale and possibly Ebay; and generally having a good sort out round the house - as I'm hoping clearer surroundings will help me think more clearly about what I'm going to do......

I've also joined the local library and got out some really good 'career searching' books. I'm reading 'Bear hunt' at mo - really good - by Malcolm McClean. It talks about how to begin the search for your dream job/career. Very inspirational!

Hope all went well for your last day in work today daisyf. Here's to new beginnings!

Last day and it was very quiet as had already had my dinner - suddenly looked at my annual leave card and realised I had 5 and half hours left to take so slipped out of the offce early... It was what I wanted only a few people on my floor and left with a smile on my face. The only downside was my idiot director who made me redundant never had the guts to say goodbye!!!

So went for a swim this afternoon and ready for a new job on Monday and a new part time business as well...

I would like to say that I have found this forum I huge help in my six months of waiting and as i am not longer redundant I may still post on here if that is okay xx
