Am absolutely gobsmacked by the OP's attitude. She's gotta be either a troll, or about 12? 13? Surely.
I think she should stop whinging and move out, would make both her and her mum & brother happier all round.
Selfish, selfish, selfish0 -

Selfish, selfish, selfish
When my sister lived at home she resented paying my parents keep and she was only paying £25/week (around 10 years ago) so it was very cheap. She was often late with it and sometimes didn't pay it at all.
She is still just as selfish and she is 28 now. My parents got her a car last year (she needed a car for work and didn't have one) on the bases that she would pay them the money back on a monthly amount that they agreed on - she is yet to pay them a penny .I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -

They need to be asking for the money more.
Don't worry, she will get real shock when she tries to avoid paying a friend back and the word spreads!!0 -

She doesn't borrow money from friends from what I know so that isn't an issue.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
Why is everyone assuming OP gets washing done and meals cooked? I'm 24, live at home and able and willing to do all of that for myself without Mummy's help!0

I cant believe the OP is acting like this. I had to start paying my mom rent when she and my dad split up and so did my fiance who lived with us. We payed 20% of our weekly earnings to my mom, which wasnt much of my money as I only had a part time job with irregular hours, so sometimes my mom would only get 10 a week from me. I know how it feels for your mom to feel helpless so the least you can do is grow up and pay your way. I am now 23 and I have moved out with my fiance into a beautiful rented house and my monthly outgoings are about 1400 a month with everything included. Put it this way would you rather help you mom keep the roof over all of your heads in the family home or would you rather go somewhere and rent a grotty flat and put money in someone elses pocket and not your mom who had worked all of her life to help you?:jHas saved so much money since joining this forum, thanks to all you kind people out there :j0

A TV licence is not an essential bill - as a TV is not an essential
And we do actually pay rates in NI - except the landlord pays them and not the tenent.
Nor is a mobile phone, but the OP considers that an essential.......COMP WINS FOR HUBBY & I SINCE SEPTEMBER:2 £50 DOMINOS VOUCHERS, 13 PAIRS OF FOOTBALL TICKETS, MICROSOFT HOME EDTN, 2 PAIRS OF ALTON TOWERS TICKETS, 1 CASE OF PERCY PIGS, 1 PAIR OF LEATHER LADIES GLOVES, 4 COLLECTION 2000 PRODUCTS, PLAYSTATION 3 WITH FIFA 12, 5* HOTEL STAY IN LONDON, SEASON 6 OF SUPERNATURAL DVD, PERFECT PIZZA VOUCHER0
