Painting a shed- debate

Our shed is different, but subtle. It is painted woodland green colour, but the door, the apex and around the window is cuprinol sage green. Looks really good and definately better than boring brown!!0

You can make a lovely "stream" with low-growing, ground cover plants or crushed slate for your bridge to go over!
More realistically, do try to introduce some water into the garden because you'll get more wildlife that way. Our first "pond" was an old baby bath sunk into the ground which did the trick until we could upgrade it.0 -

Can't wait to see the finished shed!
Another thing you can paint is the cheap wooden garden furniture from Ikea. I did mine, it needs another coat of paint as it's now looking a bit worn but it's not bad for five years later and a £15 table.0 -

I was inspired by another thread on here a couple of weeks ago that mentioned the cuprinol shades range so spent yesterday painting an old bench/arbour in our garden and I have to say we are both really pleased with the results. My OH was a little reluctant at first and said he prefered it brown but when it was finished we were delighted-it looks new now. We used wild thyme and country cream...I'm now trying to persuade him to let me do other bits in the garden but he remains reluctant!0

I used Cuprinol colours - managed to get a couple of tins at a knock down price at the end of last year at the local garden centre. I can't remember the name of the colour, but it was a light olive green. I have painted my picket fence made from old pallets and the old shed at the allotment in the colour. I think its lovely and beats the dark spruce green my OH painted it last year which was !
Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!

Fay- that really changes your garden- it does look new! shows what a lick of paint can do doesnt it!
I bought the aldi paint in white satin matt in the end to see if it was any good. One pot of 1litre paint covers the one back and side panel at £3.99 with a little bit left in pot. the coverage is good if you want a weatherworn whitewash effect but for a proper finsih i think i need to do 2 coats.
so ive calculated 4 tins or 4 litres covers my 6 x 8 shed.
I will splash out on culpinol for the blue trims, window surrounds and the shed base underneath.
the aldi paint is a bit drippy but overall the bit i have done looks ok - sadly i have a sickness bug and really want to finish it toay but feel weak and horrible:(
I have purchased some planters for oh to attach now too:)***MSE...My.Special.Escape***0
