Looking forward to see how you get on. :) Looks like you deserve to paint it how you want - seeing as you're the garden person. ;)

I think the poster who's shed that was, painted hers with Cuprinol shades. I only posted the link and now can't find the rest of the thread. :o

the cuprinol ones do look nice- it says you have to put a base on first so may let oh paint it with that- pretend hes got his way then paint over it with the colours:rotfl::rotfl:
My moms chap told me that its addictive (gardening)- i found myself gazing out of the window the other day trying to visulise what it could look like, just what he said he does:rotfl::)

Another vote for Cuprinol Shades. We've used it round the garden and it covers well, keeps its colour and lasts and lasts.

My shed is the same colour blue as the link posted. I bought the paint from wilkos a few years ago, not sure if they still do the same colour. I also painted all the fences white - that was a cuprinol paint and took much more than expected. I remember the local homebase had to order in the colour for me as I ended up needing quite a lot. It does make the garden look lovely though.
  • Do you think this aldi paint would be any good?

    http://www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/special_buys3_18074.htm

    its on offer from tommorrow-
I need to take a visit to wilkos i think and aldi tomorrow to compare the shades- also would the aldi one need to be put over a protective base like the culpinol one?

as you can guess Im new to handywork:o- so far though i have managed to tile my kitchen, learnt to wallpaper and did groundwork for shed so developing new skills i never knew i could do. The only problem i have is being a midget, i dont have much muscle or height to do hefty work:rotfl:

You only need to use the Cuprinol base coat if your wood hasn't already had a wood preserver on it. Most fencing is pre-treated and I would think most sheds are too.

If you're using bare new wood, it would have to have a preservative on it whatever paint you applied on top.

I've no idea how good the Aldi paint will be.

thats really lovely! i love the colours in your garden:)
our shed is now up minus the tarp on the roof and the door fittings.
I had a look at the paints today so wating to look at the aldi stuff as well tommorrow before i decide on the colour blue i want as the cupinol ones are slightly diferent to the wilko shades as well.
I did bring back a random red flowering rodadendrum? from aldi - it is the first plant in the garden.
there was a xmas type tree and loads of other flowers before where the shed was but it was a real jungle so my moms chap kindly chopped them down for me last time they visited so he now has an interest in the garden too to see how it develops. He asks what my plans are- I think i need to start off with one area and get that sorted before moving onto the next as i keep seeing stuff and thinking id love one of them but need to think where they would all go:rotfl: I have seen a bridge and was off in a monet fantasy before realising i dont have a stream, pond or a big space or the skill:rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
Inspired by this we used a pot of cuprinol garden shades today on a length of ugly orange fence. We ALMOST finished the fence, but totaly finished the paint. It really does change and improve that side of the garden though. For the record we used ''Wild Thyme'' as we wanted something quite dark, and it blurs the colour between that and the agricultural buildings behind....so everything looks a bit bigger and more toned in.

Looking forward to seeing picture of the finished shed! :)

Might even venture into the realms of colour for my garden now after seeing the above examples - have just finished some raised beds around the outside of the grass area and was going to clad it in cheap decking (as it's all black and green plastic at the moment). I can almost see it painted now! :D
