Tell him he CAN varnish it, once he has finished painting it the colour that you specify.

If you own a shed - you are officially the boss. Gettit?
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Someone on the old style board painted their shed and posted a picture. It looked lovely. I'll see if I can find the post.

I'd love a painted shed but my husband would never paint it.

I think I'm thinking of the same one...I'm trying to remeber was it xxvickixx? It was all icecream coloured strips and a different coloured fence too. It was just lovely!

we're painting a panel fence greeny blue soon, and trying to decide on wall colours and barn colours: its surprisingly difficult isn't it? (I think we've opted for yellow and a greyish green for the different areas ..but I'd have loved something more vibrant)

It could've been. I just can't find it though. They're quite prolific on there. There are so many posts on the shabby chic threads! :) It was lovely.

Of course you can piant it whatever colour you like, I think your idea sounds nice.

One end of our shed faces the floor to ceiling living room window and that end is painted blue, we put a shelf up and stand plants and things on there in nice clay pots.
With a seat and pots of flowers in front.

  • thanks for all the inspiring replys:)
the shed is mine and i will be painting it myself so after all your support i am going to go for it!:j
He is putting it up tommorrow so i better get paint- ive seen aldi are doing some on the upcoming deals so not sure if i can wait to get that or maybe just get the wilkos or culpinol? ones.
my garden was full of junk till i stripped it bare, removed old fence panels and dug and levelled off garden- oh did help with moving the topsoil and pebbles and making the shed base but otherwise he has no interest in the garden- at all:(
I have been getting a bit beyond myself as keep browsing plants late at night and go to bed thinking about the garden:eek:
at the bottom Im going to patio off and hopefully build up a potted tropical type area with palms and things (if i dont kill them:eek::rotfl:)
I will keep you posted on how it develops:):T

Looking forward to see how you get on. :) Looks like you deserve to paint it how you want - seeing as you're the garden person. ;)

I think the poster who's shed that was, painted hers with Cuprinol shades. I only posted the link and now can't find the rest of the thread. :o
