We are constantly pushed to take courses in ethics and in those courses teach us to inform senior management when we see stuff like this go on.
I do not blame the HR department to make an example out of me and set a standard - I deserved it and in hindsight, it made me a better person today however, to disregard and not follow that same standard for a member of staff in their own department? That is unethical, unfair and completely against the training and practice HR is educated with.
Would the CEO do something about this if he found out? Ermmm not sure - probably not. My value in the organisation is not as important as those in HR.
How many times do you have to be told?
The only reason for HR to exist is to keep the company out of court.
The CEO directs HR - not the other way round. As long as his ass is not in the dock he doesn't give a monkey's what HR get up to.
The Ethical training is - to keep the company out of court.
Any other training is to - make as much money as possibly or to keep the company out of court.
The reason your value is less is because you have not sussed this out yet.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Listen mate,
They exist to keep the company out of court but not at the expense of following through with corrupt practices.
I am a CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker). Prior to getting this qualification, I used to download illegal content all day every day however, after achieving this cert, I had to give it all up. It wasn't easy but continuing with my previous ways would have cost me my credibility and security license.
I believe the HR department should (if they dont already) operate in a similar way - to enforce and FOLLOW a strict code of conduct. If they fail to comply, they risk losing their job and privilege to practice HR forever.
I don't care what my value to the company is. The important thing for me to know is that I am a moral, honest and hard worker.
The world is full of scammers these days.0 -

I quite agree with you but sometimes you just got to accept that whilst it may not be fair its not worth digging yourself a further hole.
Keep your head down and get on with your work and the longer you stay quiet the less you become obvious to HR and the better things should become. The Googlewhacker referance is to Dave Gorman and not to my opinion of the search engine!
If I give you advice it is only a view and always always take professional advice before acting!!!
