  • Yet, my colleague was caught and sniffing drugs at a work function and was given a verbal? - Ermmmmmmmmmm -

Erm yes, what has that got to do with actual work?
  • Erm yes, what has that got to do with actual work?

    Everything.

The disciplinary procedure clearly states that the code/conduct applies to all employees in work and at business functions.
  • So if I can prove that another employee did exactly the same thing I did but did not get any warning whatsoever (whereas I got a FWW), what can I do?

    I got plenty of evidence.

I'm feeling I got a great case for "indirect discrimination".....can I take these people to a tribunal? If so, will I get fired for doing so (after).

I'm just trying to work out how I can gain from this (like they did when they pretty much stopped me from getting a huge promotion).

There is no way I am going to let a FWW remain on my file (regardless of it expiring) when another person has done a very similar thing and got away with it scott-free. There is a difference between I and other person - Sex and Race.

So far I got, Indirect, Sex and Race discrimination cases. What else....

I think I could use Race Discrimination but not going to go there because I don't believe i need to stoop to a false level.

it didnt take you long to change your mind op. just stick to the facts unless you have proof of racial discrimination.

I wouldn't go down the RD route although, I think I could make it stand in this case. I think its morally wrong to do so because I know they are not racists BUT why should I be so moral when these motherf***ers shafted me with a FWW.

They aren't my friends. They are an elite group of hypocrites.

You know the worst part of my FWW is? Even though it has expired, there is a clause in the notes to say "Should an issue of XXXXXX and XXXXXXX come into question throughout the duration of my my employment, we reserve the right to refer back to this FWW and go from there" (not exact wording obviously). Bottom line is that this will ALWAYS aid as a hindrance in my career here and if there is an issue where integrity comes into question - BYE BYE ME.

What do I want to gain from this? - Not much really. I don't want any money (or do i??? hmmm let me get back to you on that one Roger) I just want these knobs to acknowledge what they did was wrong, an apology and perhaps a completely squeaky clean record.

Not asking for much am I?

Also finding it funny that the HR forum Police isn't singing as much. Raise a concern about a simple work matter, they will show up pronto. Raise a concern against their department and ethics and it all goes quiet.......

You should have appealed the warning at the time. I doubt you can do it after the warning has expired!!

    HR Forum Police?

Anyway - the ONLY reason companies have HR depts is to keep them out of court.

Anyone who thinks they are there for the employee is sadly mistaken.

Individuals may have ethics but the reason they are there is protection of the company.

Accountants are there to keep as much money in the coffers as possible, HR to keep them out of court, Marketing to get into as many people's faces as possible, Sales to flog as many as humanly possible [and more]. And the staff are only there to fulfil orders.

What else do you need to know?
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

    .........I am an HR professional...........

As opposed to what exactly - an amateur!

Sorry but this phrase makes me laugh or cringe every time I see it!

A famous judge once said that, as far as he was concerned, there were only two professions. One was the law and everybody knows what the other one is!

More seriously though, you never seem to see people who work in the true "professions" using this piece of nonsense. "Hello, I'm a professional doctor"!

I also read a comment that HR was one of those occupations you ended up in if you weren't quite up to doing something better. How many children wake up one day and say "Mummy, when I grow up I want to be a HR Professional"? Precious few I imagine.

Jumped up clerks giving themselves airs and graces in my view - and that is when I'm feeling charitable!

On other days I tend to think they are doing HR as they are not talented enough to work in the judge's second profession.
